while this part is well made it simply does not fit the tool. the thread diameter and pitch do not match the spindle

Easy to replace. Perfect fit. Use an allen wrench in the small hole to lock the motor and unscrew the old spool.

Kobalt Bump feed

Do yourself a favor and purchase the Husqvarna T35 for your Kobalt 80volt trimmer. It fits perfectly. unscrew the old head, put on the large silver washer and screw on the T35 head and you're done. Stop looking for a part Kobalt refuses to make.

different thread

this part looks like exactly what I needed, until I tried to screw it on. I took it to my local Lowe's thinking maybe there is a secret to it. I took wacker, old head, new head and they could not get it to mount. Thought there might be a burr in new one. No burr, so I will reorder but I think I will have the same problem. It is a well made part, just wish it worked.

Make sure your trimmer will accept this new head.

The base of this head does not fit on my Kobalt string trimmer. I is molded to a different shape and the nut is threaded differently. I'm guessing my model is older and the base plate was factory installed, not easy to remove. When I finally got it off, the new one would not screw on to the threaded drive shaft.
