I have used the pliers and I love the fact that they do no need to be adjusted all the time and once in position. they stay clamped tight!

Doesn't Lock Securely

Great concept, but doesn't fulfill its promise. Pliers slide and "lock" into place, but don't lock as securely as other grip pliers where you adjust manually. Ok for the price, but does not deliver.

Self Adjusting Locking Pliers

These do not work, not enough adjustment will not hold material tight when clamped.

Well Designed

As someone who has great ideas, but cannot afford to get them into application, I would say that this item is well thought out and has great practicle application.

Kobalt Locking Pliers

I have only used the small pliers; or should I say tried to use them. I could not get the pliers adjusted tight enough to grip the piece I was working on. When I tried to use the button on the bottom of the pliers the button broke off and a spring fell out. I am going to return them to Lowes. I am normally very satisfied with Kobalt tools.

Gets the Job Done

We got these to help remove a stripped screw and they got the job done. They've also come in handy for a few other projects since. It's kind of like having an extra hand.

not the best locking pliers by any means.

Work okay for light duty jobs but definatley will not be replacing my standard vise grips in my tool box.

Pliers jam

While trying to use them for the first time, I couldn't get the pliers to release. The locking feature was bound up. I could release the lock by separating the handles but the jaws would not come fully open. I finally had to hammer the locking mechanism to get them to open. If I still had the package, they would be going back to the store. At least I only wasted my money when they were 50% off.

Good thing it was half price

Paper directions say one thing....directions on the actual pliers say something else. Directions on the pliers do not work. I have this kind pliers from another manufacturer and they work fine. I thought the push-button feature was to be a plus, but pushing the button did not release the grip.

Not a bad tool!!

They are good tools that are going to take some time getting used too. I am from the old school that used real "Vise Grips".May be in a few weeks I might feel a little different about them but for now thats my opinion.

Innovative design

Excellent idea to tackle a needed tool's improvement. Terrific value. Although I haven't got a chance to put it to full use, I think it will surpass my expectations. Hopefully Cobalt will offer a larger size in the future.

self adjusting junk

I purchased 2 sets of these for Christmas gifts, I have had one set returned to me so far to return. They don't clamp tight enough like a set of vise- grips do. I tried to adjust the tension on them and still cant clamp on a something round and turn it, the pliers just spin around it. They have no grip.

The small pliers did't work well at all.

Haven't tried the large set yet. Hopefully they work better. Not as advertised.
