Splash shield doesn’t work.

Apparently, there are many mixers with this problem. I was also dissatisfied with the warped out of the box shield. Please sent the link and review number and I will send you the model information and a picture of the flawed item. I waited many years and finally ordered the Artesian mixer. I am confident that you can “make it right” for the very expensive stand mixer.

Lid does not stay on

The lid came with my mixer, I have tried to use it many times but it always falls off, so I just take it off I haven't used it for a long time. I love my mixer it's the best thing I have bought. When I make my monster cookies the dough is right to the top of the bowl and the mixer has no problem in mixing it up. I just love this mixer. I would definitely recommend the mixer, Now on the other hand I would not recommend the bowl shield.

Does not stay on the bowl

I have the kitchenaid for one month, baking bread every day. After day two I did not use the shield anymore since it does not stay on the bowl... pitty since it should really help to keep your kitchen clean...

LOVE the mixer DISLIKE the shield

I was gifted this a few weeks ago. I love the mixer but the shield is a waste of time. It does not stay in place. I was adding the flour on low speed and flour went everywhere. It ruined my measurements.

Pouring shield

This is awful, does not fit properly, design is not fit for any tilt head mixer .. redesign it so it functions the way it’s meant to be used

Horrible Design

I bought a replacement shield and it makes more of a mess than no shield. Won't stay put on the bowl and is actually dangerous when you try to hold it on with your hand when the mixer is going at the lowest speed. Stop selling this junk and make a product that fits. Rip off. If you could give less than a star, I would.

Poor quality!

I just purchased a new stand mixer. My old one still working and about 15 years old. Just wanted to update with a new one. I decided to purchase a new pour shield as thinking maybe a better design than my old one. So wrong! This new pour shield is very flimsy plastic and only kind of sits on top of bowl. Does not fit my artisan

I bought the model that came with the shield because I knew that it would be needed. It does not fit at all. It is very loose and there is space all around the rim. I tried to use the pouring shoot and a lot of the flour ended up all over the mixer and counter. I thought this was just how it was made, but I was just at my sisters and saw hers and her shield snaps on for a nice tight fit. I would like to know how to go about getting one that fits right. Simply does not work

It’s not clear how to use this mixer without the ingredients flying all over the counter. The pouring shield that came with the mixer does not work at all. It’s slightly too loose around the rim so doesn’t snap on. And even if it did snap on, the big hole in the back fails to prevent the ingredients from flying everywhere. Defective product. My wife is incredibly disappointed - she wanted a mixer for years, and now just gets frustrated by it every time she uses it.

Lid does not snap into place

I live my mixer and use it often, but I do not like that the shield does not lock into place. It has to be held down when in use and ends up being difficult to manage.

Does not work

I got this with my Artisan. It does not fit tightly enough on the bowl that came with it, so it slips off easily and makes a mess. Very frustrating

Not Dishwasher safe

Says it's dishwasher safe. After first time in dishwasher, it no longer fit on the bowl.

Looks nice but not useful

Pretty much agree with other reviews. I should have listened. 3rd party shields seem better, I thought this would be at least as good. We're so happy with our new mixer I thought Kitchenaid was that thoughtful for accessories too. Guess again :( Other 3rd party shields are two piece with an inner piece that slides around so that you can seal the top, or move them around to line up an opening. In this one there's a large opening under the mixer and large opening for the shute. End result there...

Too small.

Right to the point, kitchenaid doesn’t give any indication that this is for SMALL bowls. We have a 4.5 qt bowl and it falls inside. Why not make one that fits the larger bowls? If you do, why not list it as well as the sizes each fit. Quit disappointed.

The worst

I have had 2 Kitchenaid mixers for about 20 years-a 5 quart and 6 quart. The 6 quart came with a 2 piece pouring shield and is wonderful! I would give it 5+ stars The 5 quart mixer did not come with one and I finally broke down and bought one even after reading all the bad reviews. Well, it arrived and you don't have to have a degree in engineering to see the flaws in this design. It fits the bowl, but since it is one piece, there is a 4 inch gap in order to fit the guard around the paddle and ...

Save your money!

This shield does not work! The shield has to many opening for the flour to fly. Yikes!

Strictly for right-handed use!

Do not buy if you are left-handed and find it difficult to pour using your right hand.

Doesn’t fit securely

This came with my mixer. Overall still useful, but the fit on the bowl is a horrible design. I find myself constantly readjusting because I accidentally touch the pour shield with the bowl I’m trying to pour from.

Utterly useless item as a splash guard

The item DOES NOT WORK as a splash guard. The design is poor where the large open gap opposite the pouring funnel lets most of everything you add through the funnel splash out of the bowl. The item is also sooooo light that the draft from the beaters lifts it off the rim of the bowl, allowing stuff from the bowl to escape and drip over the side of the bowl!
