I have mine for 10 years so far and counting.

I never wrote a review, but after 10 years I felt that I needed to say that, mine is still rocking. I have grinded shrimp, meat, kasava (yuca), etc. I don't use it that much anymore but I will buy it again and it is a great gift for anyone that likes to know what is in their ground beef.

Good design; bad material

Good design...... But it is made out of Plastic. Used it 3 times and the housing cracked from the torque stress. Not a good deal; when you also buy the Fruit and Vegetable strainer (That attaches to the grinder and it’s also made out of plastic) and the tray —- These don’t fit the NEW METAL Grinder. Obviously..... They only had ONE smart design engineer!

Horrible Shipping

My grinder just arrived but the box was dented due to horrible packaging. This is a gift and I wish it didn’t look so beat up after paying so much for this attachment. This is very disappointing and as a family we have bought a lot of kitchen aid products and are loyal customers. The fact that they used a shipping envelope that wasn’t secure concerns me. "Improved Design is Junk compared to old model

Bought this a week ago, unpacked it: large grind plate is too small for sausage, grind blade is very cheap design, screw in screw drive which holds grind blade, comes loose. Not even close to quality of original grinder attachment I have used for over 30 years. Don't even want to try it. It will fail as described in several negative reviews. I should include a picture of the "old design" grinder to prove my point, but not worth my time. If I can figure out how, I'm returning this on unused.

Save money buy the metal attachment!

I had received the plastic attachment as a gift after talking about making sausage with a friend. I have been making my own sausage for about 5 years now with family and friends using other more heavy duty equipment. During the height of the Covid outbreak in April I decided to make a small batch of sausage with my mother. I placed the equipment in the freezer to get it cold, which is ideal for fringing. Don't Buy!

Same as all the 1 star review. Metal screw in auger sheared off on 3rd use. Expected better than that from Kitchen Aid. I bought mine from local company. Should have looked at reviews first before purchasing this. Same thing with support, been on hold for 15 min and Live Chat wait time 22 min. Pretty disappointed Kitchen Aid that you haven't fixed this issue yet.

grinds meat great, and different coarse can be don

my husband bought me my Kitchen aid stand mixer 20 years ago I love everything about it . the attachments are the best. grinds meat great, and different coarse can be done. we have 3 medium dogs who require special diets, we grind all the meat , it has saved us so much money and the puppies stay healthy. we all thank you.

2 Snapped in less than 6 months

Purchased one in March and the auger was dropped on accident after washing the bolt holding the auger on the shaft snapped off. Returned it to the store and got a replacement this time the bolt snapped again although it wasn't dropped. This little bolt is also what the blade spins on so it's a vital part.

I bought this grinder about a month after I bought my mixer it's been over 15 years now both still in heavy use zero issues

Broke upon first use

I tried to make peanut butter using this attachment, and the collar broke immediately. I've perused the replacement part sites, and there doesn't seem to be a way to replace the collar piece. Live Chat didn't work during business hours, and there is no email contact information available. There is a snail mail address, which doesn't seem very efficient in this day and age. :(

Educate yourself before buying

Like everyone else in the world, I bought this when I saw it attached to the meat grinder. Like everyone else, I was duped because Kitchenaid decided that after decades of doing things one way, they'd change everything on a whim, leaving millions without compatible parts. Unfortunately, I live two hours away from where I purchased this, so I'm stuck. The 4-5 gallons of cooked tomatoes that are sitting waiting for me thank you...

Buyer beware

I wish I had got the metal food grinder, the plastic is awful! Hopper/housing is cracked, and I am not able to replace (I called and asked about ordering just the metal housing, since auger, blade, dies, etc are all fine), but that is not available. I’m deciding whether to buy the entire rig again in metal, but I would ABSOLUTELY NOT get the plastic attachment. Come on KitchenAid, you can do better than this!!

Buyer Beware

After preparing most the day to make sausage links for a barbecue on the weekend I pulled out my KitchenAid and the grinder attachment. Halfway through the worm broke and I wasn’t able to complete making my sausage links for the week is barbecue. Unfortunately I had to go to Plan B and buy sausage. Not Happy!

Do Not BUY!!! Broke after 2 uses!

I was happy with the grinder’s performance, but after using it the second time I couldn’t believe that the bolt that holds the blade in broke. Literally just broke in half. I thought I could count on KitchenAid to make quality attachments... I guess not.

Plastic is not strong enough

Upon the first and second usage, the product seemed to work fine although it would strain a bit here and there. On our third time using it, we were grinding steaks (hardly any fat and no gristle) when it hit a tougher part and the plastic ring exploded, shooting shards of plastic and meat all over the kitchen. Maybe this works better if you are doing soft cheeses and such but I would never tell anyone to buy it with the intention of grinding meat.

Poor Design

Brought the food grinder attachement not once but twice totally disappointed.Both times each I used this product I was able to get one use out of it.I seemed to fail at the same place. Hopefully the metal grinder will work, I will find out.

Do not waste your money or time for this

I wish I can give 0 star not even one I bought this twice and I got the same disappointed each time. I love everything fresh and I like to do everything at home for my family and friends espacially now it is hard time and we do not go out anymore. Grinder concern

Have been using my grinder attachment for the past two years and have been very happy with it. However I've recently noticed cracks forming where the plastic covers the metal assembly attaching the grinder to the stand mixer. Is this solely a cosmetic issue or should I be concerned about the grinder failing and possibly contaminating food? Please advise. Thanks for a great product.

Screw is broken

I bought this product less than a month ag. Today when I tried to used it for the 4th time I noticed that the screw is broken. Really disappointed with the little durability and quality.
