Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
Customers are divided on this meat grinder attachment. Most praise its ease of use, quick grinding, and ability to control meat quality and make fresh sausage at home. However, many report serious durability issues, with plastic housings cracking or exploding after just two to three uses, grinding screws breaking, and pins shearing under normal conditions. Several reviewers compare it unfavorably to older metal models, expressing disappointment in declining quality. A few mention additional concerns like oil leakage. Overall, while most value the functionality, durability failures significantly undermine satisfaction.

Would Not RecommendWorks great until it doesn't. The base of mine quickly developed a crack (where it attached to the mixer) and that's slowly gotten bigger to the point that meat juices squirt out of it upon use. Also, probably unrelated, but worth noting because I notice it when I use the grinder, there's oil leaking from the back of my mixer. It's pretty gross to get on your hands. And, honestly, if you don't mind it's oil, it can easily be mistaken for something edible. I really wish both these issues didn't g...

If only for the cacks.
Would RecommendMy wife bought this for me on Christmas years ago. Love it but for one problem. Plastic housing cracks. And it did not take long for the cracks to appear. I have eight cracks at the back of the housing where it attaches to the mixer. One serious the rest not as bad. I have an automotive stainless steel hose clamp on the housing to keep them from spreading. It needs to be made out of steel. I would give it a 5 but for the cracks. Works fine. As far as lubrication I put vegetable oil on the shaft ...

Grind away!
Would RecommendI’ve had this grinder for about 6 months or so and I appreciate the fact that I can pretty much turn any cut of meat in the fridge into ground meat. I’ve made picadillo, meatballs and patties so far. Most times it’s been able to handle whatever is thrown into the grinder. I give this a four-star review because it has jammed a couple of times and the grinder came loose once. It couldn’t process the sinew as well on those occasions so I have been more mindful of trimming the meat down a bit to avo...

Really?!
Would Not RecommendI received the grinder attachment as a birthday present last year (2022) & have used it a total of 3 times. On the third time, the metal pin inside the rotator broke apart from the tip. The rotator won't turn, nor will the blade spin. Very disappointing as I enjoy creating my own ground meats. Fortunately, I had a manual meat grinder handy to complete the meal.

ESSENTIAL TOOL FOR MY KITCHEN!
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I haven't used this as a grinder attachment per se, but it's a piece that I need to use in order to use the strainer attachment which I used extensively to make tomato sauce and puree fruits. An indispensable tool in my kitchen,.

Plastic Housing Cracks
Would Not RecommendI've had this for a number of years, but used it very lightly. Noticed today the plastic housing now has a crack about 3" running down the main unit. The crack grew 1" just using it today on soft meat cut into 1" cubes. This should not happen. Since it's past 1 year old, warranty is expired. Looks like I'll have to throw this in the garbage. I don't recommend buying if you want something to last long.

Not as sturdy as previous model
Would Not Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The new style grinder just has a metal pin in the case holding the grinder disk rather than the previous model which the disk had two ears locked in by the nut. It may be strong enough, but it is thinner and lighter construction. Not sure about it’s longevity.

Poor Quality
Would Not RecommendThe screw broke after using the grinder two times. The blade is not spinning. Therefore the meat is not being ground. I am disappointed with Kitchen Aid.

Could be worse
Would Not RecommendSo I've had this attachment for a while, and it's time for a review. So let's say either the blades aren't sharp enough or the mixer is not powerful enough; either way, this grinder needs to be used for soft meats and a few veggies. But tougher cuts of meat will not push through this attachment. Also, what's with the discoloring? Disgusting, to say the least. I will update you with pictures next time.

Not good
Would Not RecommendThis was the original grinder I bought, the plastic broke. I was afraid of not being able to clean it properly si I threw it away and bought the metal one. Now I am wondering if the metal one contains lead?

Great Grinder
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Loved the one that I had but do to a house fire all plastic items had to be thrown out. Received my new grinder and was able to grind the remaining turkey up and make a turkey sandwich spread with sweet pickles, onions, mayonnaise, favorite spices. Delicious.
