You have to push it hard to get it to lock. I also am not fond of the lack of range of the toasting. you have 5 settings and it seems like the breads I use are always in between as if i needed a 3.5 which it doesn't have. Bread burnt on one side and too light on the other
Would Not Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm 69 years old and have owned numerous toaster and have to say this by far is the worst toaster I have ever used. Reason is that it's the only toaster I have owned that it's toasts both side at different temperatures. One side is too dark, other side too light. If I put a slice of white bread in and move it past the lowest setting 1 it's burnt on one side. Only usable on setting #1, the rest are worthless. Seriously considering buying another...

Easy to keep clean
Would RecommendI like this toaster's design and size. I don't have a lot of counter space, so I needed a toaster that could accomodate thick sliced breads and bagels, but wasn't too large for the space I have. This one has a lot of settings so it's easy to get a perfectly toasted item. It's also easy to keep clean, which is very important to me.
