Bad experiences with KitchenAid major appliances

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Getting over temperature alarm on a regular basis. As an aside I bought 6 KitchenAid major appliances. Four of them have already had, sometimes multiple, service calls and repairs. Also bought a Whirlpool Washer and dryer and the dryer has had a repair.

An absolute NIGHTMARE

I bought this fridge 18 months ago. In May the freezer Led lights failed. It took my extended warranty 5 visits before they changed the LED light (which by the way they clam they never need to be replaced and very common complaint). I rate it 3 stars because the fridge is beautiful but expensive to have bulbs go out and to find out they do not make equivalent led lights, Instead the only part they have is a yellow light which looks horrible. and the real reason I would have gave no stars is ...

Overall good but Crispers are terrible

Good overall but Vegetables spoil twice as fast as in our Sub Zero in our other house and the solution for KitchenAid is a add on device that does not seem to work just takes up space in the crisper drawers. This is the same problem we have with our other KitchenAid fridge in our butler’s pantry. Both purchased new thru our builder. Really not work the money.

Great looking but with no real cold water dispense

We've had this refrigerator 5 days and while it looks great, and is cold enough, there is a "major" design flaw - and that is the cold water tank (for the built-in water dispenser) is so small that there is effectively NO cold water available. If you really want cold water out of the door - this is NOT the refrigerator for you

Surprisingly better

New fridge4us

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator replaces an older model which began to deteriorate. This new one has better parts and the new lighting is great. The older version had really poor drawer guides and this one has much better guides.

LED lights constantly going out in Freezer

I love my 48 in Kitchenaid built-in - it is our second. However the unit is only 2 years old but starting at 18 months the LED lights in the freezer are constantly going out requiring service. At first was covered and now that 2 years is up it is no longer covered even though it has been an ongoing issue with the freezer LED's. Very annoying and disappointing in such an expensive appliance.

Nightmare

Truly the most disappointing thing I have ever bought. Just came home to again find the refrigerator side at 60degrees! A Refrigerator that cost as much as a good used car should have a better warranty and should be assembled correctly

May be good or may be terrible

I have had this refrigerator for 3 years and it has broken twice. After 1 1/2 years, the compressor went out, but it was covered under warranty so there was no cost associated with the repair however it took 6 weeks (over the holidays) to get it fixed because there is only ONE authorized Kitchenaid repair company in San Antonio and they had to make 5 trips out. Very Pleased so Far

Great lighting!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this product to replace an existing fridge in our new house. The lighting inside is wonderful and the pull out drawers are large and smooth. The ice bin is very big and makes a large quantity of ice. The only drawback to this product is I was surprised to find there was no built in water dispenser.

Lemon with customer service that is equally bad

We bought this refrigerator for our vacation home in Cabo and liked that it was a reputable American company with a local dealer if anything were to go wrong. Six months and four service calls later, KitchenAid has finally agreed that the unit is unrepairable and will replace it...but SIX MONTHS LATER? What if we hadn't kept the old refrigerator...this Kitchenaid doesn't get below 70 degrees, won't make ice cubes and doesn't keep anything in the freezer frozen! Basically it doesn't do one thing ...

fantastic and spacious

Working great

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) It did take some time but the first unit that I got the freezer would super freeze if the fridge door was opened. My new unit works perfectly. Very quiet. Keeping constant temperature. I would strongly recommend this fridge freezer now. Hardly notice the hum in an open concept kitchen.

Works Great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This replaced a 48" built in that was discontinued from the manufacturer before it was even delivered to my home, my old one (different manufacturer) only made enough ice for maybe my husband and I, not so with the kitchenaid after 3 days we had to turn off the icemaker because it made so much! Love it!

Solid, great features and size

Love my Side by Side
