[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This ice machine came with a pump-up motor which I did not need. I called Whirlpool and no one could provide me any advice on if I can remove it. Additionally, I purchased the 5 year extended warranty and it was very difficult to register and receive the contract. I still do not have the extended warranty contract but they confirmed I have the warranty.

Does not work

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Did not work. Pump was defective. Replacement pump was also defective. I’ve rescheduled a third time to replace it through its warranty.This is a very expensive appliance to not work at all. So far, a huge disappointment.

Very nice machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had this ice maker installed for 2 weeks now, and I love it! The ice is wonderfully clear and there’s a lot of it! I was concerned about how much noise it would make, but am happy to report that it quite acceptable- occasional sloshy noises but the compressor hum is quiet. The pump hose was not secured correctly to the pump, but it was an easy fix.

Exceedingly pleased.

Great ice maker so far

Good machine

The first time this happened I tried pulling out the machine to see if the electrical connection was loose. That was not the case, but as I pushed the machine back in under the counter it came on again. And then last week it did the same thing but moving it had no effect. Great, at first

It was great while it worked but almost three years in and I’ve had nothing but problems with it. Not only that it’s almost impossible to get someone scheduled through kitchenaid to come out to do the warranty work on it. Very disappointed with the quality of this ice maker especially considering how much it costs.

Do not recommend

My ice machine has broken down three times in two years. Out of service for over five months total. Currently not working.

Too Soon to Tell

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really too soon to review the ice maker as I have had it installed a mere 3 weeks. However, The installers were Pathetic! It took three trips for them to get it right. The third trip a manager came out and did it himself - CORRECTLY!

Nice addition to kitchen appliances

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my 5th KitchenAid ice maker in 30 years. Seems like an ice maker on average lasts about 7 years. I’ve gotten used to having an ice maker and would not want to live without it. This is a great one; wish it would last longer.

Superb and ice maker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Replaced an older model of this same KAid that was leaking the Freon after a few months of recharge. This ice maker is perfect, quiet, and produces a full bin of ice in short order. Installed myself in about 30 minutes. Make sure you order the filter at time of purchase, and that it fits this model. Highly recommend this ice maker.

Defective Ice Machine

I bought the ice machine a year ago and it failed to make ice after about a month. It has been “repaired” now four times and still does not work.

2 failures in less than 3 years

Icemaker was installed in March 2022. Developed a coolant leak in July 2023 that required a complete replacement of the cooling system. It has failed again in June 2024. I had purchased the 5 yr extended warranty with the icemaker, but apparently the start date for that is a year after the expiration of the manufacturers warranty. Now have to get the extended warranty start date adjusted to make a claim. Not sure who was at fault for that, but another headache for the consumer to resolve.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We just completed our remodeling of our beach condo and installed the ice maker. We are concerned that the ice maker has been shutting down and all of the ice melts while we are not there for extended periods. The next time we go to the condo, the ice has melted and left a large amount of water in the ice bin.

Wish it worked

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The few weeks it worked it was great. It oddly didn’t come with a filter. When we put a filter in it started making a horrible noise and stopped making ice. Took the (expensive) filter out and it still didn’t work. We scheduled a service for this week (2nd week in June). So far we are not happy.

Disappointed

Purchased 3/8/21. Raved about this ice machine. It was by far our favorite of the 5 Kitchenaid appliances purchased for a major kitchen Reno. Have maintained as directed. Machine is now making poor quality/low quantity ice. Of course no longer under warranty. I expected better longevity from a brand I trusted.

Been doing the job!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I originally bought to provide ice for my boat/fishing trips. This is my third machine as the previous two lasted right at ten years each. Obvisouly, if I wasn't satisfied with the performance I would not have made this major investment in third machine.

Icemaker that Works!

My second replacement

This is my second replacement. The first replacement lasted 7 years before compressor failed. It is loud in my house which has high ceilings and open area, hard floor; echos. They changed the door hinges which now look like aftermarket cabinet hinges. Makes nice ice though.
