Used the Jobes tree and shrub spikes in my yard in late winter. I just moved into a new home and the previous owners took very good care of the yard, but it was unknown the last time they furterlized the shrubs and trees in the yard. So I decided to get an early start in furtilization of themy trees and shrubs, besides I don't think it will hurt. The fruits of my labor should be shown itn the coming months.

Great product

Would Recommend

These have helped my trees immeasurably over the past few years. Best to poke holes in the ground first (use a large steel bar) and then drop them in. Don't try to pound them all the way in or they will break. Fertilize your trees. They will love you for it.

Jobes Spikes

Would Recommend

Product broke apart when trying to pound into ground. 7 of the 9 in the box did not go in as designed. Need a better method to install. I used a 3/4 dowel to make a hole for the next 8 after the first broke apart. Still of the next 8, only two went in without breaking.

Doing a good job

Would Recommend

I placed three spikes around my butterfly bush. It was not doing well last year even though I was feeding it. This year I'm using Jobe's spikes and I can already see a difference in the leaves.

Spike it up

I love this product but I really needed the one for palms. Lowes needs to expand their lines on many items.

Not what I needed

I have a fruit tree my neighbor and I have decided to "revive". I have to wait for spring to do the "broadcast" feeding, but I thought I'd do the fall feeding with "spikes". After doing a little online research, I found out that the tree should have 10-10-10 for the formula. These spikes are 15-3-3. I found out that Jobe's makes a Citrus/Fruit tree spike, but my local Lowe's doesn't stock them. The spikes are supposed to come with a plastic cap to use to drive the stakes into the soil. The box I...

Evergreen tree spikes.

Would Recommend

Spikes were easy to insert into ground. I used a spade to open a slot for placement of spike rather than mallet to drive spike. I see very nice gradual improvement in color of evergreen trees.

Dearth of Choice in Jobst Spikes

Would Not Recommend

I went into Lowes looking for medium size Jobst tree spkes (tree, meaning a wde range of plant sizes). What do i find and buy, teeey weeny one that would fit a table plantar, and a size for fruit trees. So, what happened to a size for small and medium shrubs? They used to exist. So, wife get the sublime and the rediculous, but not what she wanted.
