What Customers Are Saying
The Insinkerator instant hot water dispenser provides quick access to hot water for various kitchen tasks like making tea, coffee, and oatmeal. Customers appreciate the convenience, but report issues with durability and reliability, such as the button sticking, leaks, and a relatively short lifespan of 2-5 years. Some users recommend considering alternative models, especially those with a lever-style faucet, as the lever design seems more reliable.

5 months and complete failure of tank
Would RecommendInstalled 8/1/23, worked great until 12/5/23. Complete failure of instant hot tank. Reached out to customer service, new tank provided under warranty. Unit is performing as designed. Have had these units for decades.

In the words of my kids...
Would RecommendThis is the best add to the house. Yes, I have it 4 stars and it's more based on the noise of the heater. It's not overly loud, but definitely noticeable. Other than that, I can't find any faults. It works great. I like how you can adjust how hot you want it, and it is definitely value add to my kitchen.

Excellent disposal and impossible to stop up!
Would RecommendDid a kitchen remodel and was tempted to just reinstall our 21 year old disposal as it had worked flawlessly for all those years. However, based on the age and everything else being replaced relating to the kitchen sink area, we bought the same updated model and replaced it.

Works as advertised, install a little challenging connecting dispenser to sink, as very tight space
Would RecommendReplaced tank after 12 years of effective heating of H2O. Excellent product, a little pricey

Works well to deliver hot water for tea or hot chocolate. Also use for hot water for cleaning or cooking.
Would RecommendI had one for about 6 years and replaced it with the same model. The old unit slowly lost its ability to heat past 165*. We like the convenience of hot water right now. No longer run the hot water tap to get hot water all the way from the water heater.

Works!
Would RecommendHad my handyman install the new insta hot when my old one went bad. This one working great. Glad there was an option for brushed nickle. Looks great. Matches the other accessories.

Good But Not Great
Would RecommendThe product is relatively easy to install but it won't last as long as you might hope. Unless you put a filter on the device (another step entirely), hard water will cause the unit to die within 2-3 years max. Go into this aware of the product life.

Amazing - First time owner! Love this device....
Would RecommendIt's incredible. I bought the one with the filter, so now drinking coffee, tea, soups and all kinds of things directly in seconds. Also VERY useful in bringing a pot of water to a boil on the stove. Fill a pot with hot water from the Incinerator, then put on the stove, boils in 20 seconds. I will never be without one again... It's great for doing dishes in the sink too - hot water and cold for a perfect temperature mix...

On our 4th one in 12 years
Would Not RecommendSo, I thought it would be a great idea to put an Instahot in the center island kitchen sink. They don't seem to last more than 3-4 years. We only use it for tea in the morning and a few other small things, it's not used that much but, since I have the hole on the granite, I need to replace it every 3 to 4 years when it stops making hot water. I replace the water filter regularly, even thou we have a water filtration system for the house. Funny, their garbage disposal just died but, I got 10 year...

Instant hot water is a great accessory to any home! almost can't live without it
Would RecommendGood looking, overall easy to install, instructions were good. My countertop is 3cm thick granite so I had to modify the install a little using parts from my old one (that lasted over 15 years).

Not like other Insinkerator products
Would Not RecommendWe have no confidence in this unit. The on button sticks about half the time and the water does not shut off.. Tis is oue 3rd hor water dispenser and can not see it lasting like the other ones.

Hi Roncon, we apologize for the inconvenience you've experienced with our product. Please reach out to us via https://support.insinkerator.com/app/ask...
Too short and rigid for most sinks.
Would Not RecommendWhile the tank and plumbing are well designed and function perfectly, the spout/handle unit is suitable only for built-in sink/counter combo designs and much too small for any kitchen countertop installation with an under-counter or surface sink installation. To drill the obligate hole in the countertop, one must avoid the sink rim when drilling, so the hole must be over 2" back from the sink itself. Imagine the shock when the final step for installation places the Insinkerator spout at the rim,...

Good flow rate, good temperature recovery rate.
Would RecommendVery happy with this hot water dispenser. It gets used daily, and adds to the convenience around the sink area. I have a better than normal background in plumbing and mechanical installations, and found the unit very easy to install. Thermostatic control lets you select the dispensed water temperature. Intuitive installation made everything easy. I would highly recommend this product.

Straightforward replacement for SST-FLTR
Would RecommendInstallation was pretty easy and a bolt in replacement for my prior unit from Insinkerator, which lasted 15 years. Easy hook up to power, water and filter, even for someone that doesn't like plumbing. The Hot100 is working very well in this set up: - abundant hot water and good flow - fast cycle time - no taste issues I'm also protecting against the "sticky button" with occasional applications of food grade silicone lubricant from Amazon: Super Lube 56204

Would Not Recommendunit can not be used with one had (cup sitting in sink)

Faulty units
Would Not RecommendConvenient when it’s working. On my third unit in 3 months. First the hot water just stopped working, and now this new unit has a weird taste coming from the water. Very disappointed in the quality of these products and regretting going with this brand.

Couldn’t do without it
Would RecommendI had one when we lived in Michigan. Fast forward, and we now live in Arizona. After 3 years here, we remodeled our kitchen. The first thing I decided on was a hot water dispenser. Water is sacred here in the desert. Why would I let it run and waste water while waiting for it to get hot, or using energy to heat up cold water on the stove. I can’t recommend this more.

Instant Hot
Would RecommendReplaced an older Insinkerator (lasted 9 yrs). Mounting to sink relatively easy.(socket wrench instead of getting your whole hand into a very difficult space)

Stopped working after 2 years
Would Not RecommendI wish I had read these reviews before buying. It can't be a coincidence that this product only has a one year warranty and all these units stop working after two years. The thermostat seems to have broken and now only dispenses water at precisely 130F no matter what the dial is set to. It has also started making the gurgling noise that a lot of other reviews describe, and spews water randomly into the sink for up to half an hour after using it. I even performed cleaning and maintenance as de...
