I bought an Insinkerator Hot--1 in 2011. I had to replace it in 2018. And I had to replace it last month. I upgraded to a more expensive model for one reason: three year in-home replacement guarantee. There is something inherently wrong with Insinkerator Hot--1 models that don't last more than a few years before they stop dispensing hot water. I think Insinkerator should focus its efforts on making sure its products last and don't fall apart.

Great product but expect for it to leak at the 3-4 year point
Would RecommendI love the InSinkerator instant hot tap. Use it EVERYDAY. I will always have one. But expect to have to buy a new one every 3-4 years as it usually starts to leak just after the warranty is up. I am on my 4th over the past 15 years.

Harder to install than the instructions imply.
Would RecommendThis replaced a 10+ year old unit that was spitting air & water when turned on. Also the faucet part would sometimes not fully shut off. Because of the design, the faucet part will move around when tightening the wing nut. Requires two people to install the faucet part. Impossible to tighten wing nut enough by hand. Had to use lineman pliers to tighten it enough. Otherwise the faucet would move when twisting the handle to dispense water. Used existing bracket to hang the tank. Hookup of ...

Hi, thanks for sharing your comments. An assistant may be needed to hold the faucet head in place while securing the faucet. We're always working hard...
This product was just as I ordered.
Would RecommendI have had an InSinkErator for the past 4 or 5 years and just moved to a new condo and wanted the same wonderful convenience that I had before. I love having the ability to have hot chocolate, hot tea, hot cider, etc at the touch of a faucet.

Easy Install, Works Well. Wish it got a bit hotter
Would RecommendBought this to replace an older model that was leaking. Install was easy since it was a replacement. Easy to operate and works well. Only downside is I can't get the water temp over 185F. I was hoping to get water up to 195F for coffee.

Very good product ... instant hot water
Would RecommendThe unit we received did not heat the water very hot ... only 160 degrees. We called the service department and were given the name of the company that does the warranty work. They came and replaced the unit and the new one functions very well ... water at 190/200 degrees. This is our third unit over the past 25 years.

Good, instant hot,
Would RecommendThis unit replaced one which was about 15 to 18 years old. The installation was ease, since we were only replacing the unit. We like the ability to just walk up to the sink, turn the handle and get hot water for tea, coffee or hot chocolate.

Hot water heater delivers... so far.
Would RecommendThis is a very simple product, and it works great. Lots of water is as hot as you'd care to make it. I gave it a 'good' review. I can't give it 'excellent' until it lasts 10 years. This is my 3rd instant hot water heater. The first failed by corrosion (leaked through the casing and made a mess and a stink under the sink) but lasted 10 years. The second (not Insinkerator) failed at the sink valve in under 5 years.

Great but wobbly
Would RecommendThis is our third unit in 20 years, and that seems perfectly reasonable. The screw which secures the faucet to the countertop is just a wingnut and that seems to come loose way too easily causing the entire faucet to twist at its base after only a few uses. That necessitates me crawling under the sink to tighten the thing and it really is a bit of a flaw in the design. What can be done about this?

Great Instant Hot Water Dispenser
Would RecommendWe really enjoy our hot water dispenser. We have had InSinkErator Dispensers for years but this is the best one. Extremely quiet, easy to adjust temperature. Installation was quick since replacing old one. Highly recommend.

Easy to Install, and Nice to Use
Would RecommendThe Insinkerator has good instructions and was easy to install. It offers a wider (hotter) range of temperature settings than our old Insta-hot. Well done!

Does an excellent job - wish they lasted longer
Would RecommendThis is perhaps the 5th InSinkErator Brand instant hot water faucet in 20 years. They do a great job but only last for a few years before they begin to leak. As soon as we start noticing air in the lines it is time to check under the sink to look for drips of water. If they lasted as long as our water heater (just one during that time) I would be thrilled.

Difficult to mount with 1-1/4" granite
Would RecommendThe threaded stud needs to be longer when mounting the dispenser head on surfaces in excess of 1". With 1-1/4" granite the amount of effective grip length of the stud is but a few threads. Additionally, when mounting at the corner of a deep sink (8") the mounting hardware is very difficult to get in place and get the nut started on the very short stud available. This was a replacement of a 10 year old system. The mounting system used then centered around a large nut to afix the dispenser to t...

This is a very useful and reliable product.
Would RecommendI would never have a kitchen without instant hot water. This is my 3rd Insinkerator unit and they last a good 10-15 years; and, they are very easy to replace; and, at a modest cost, as well. PERFECT for my two cups of green tea every day! (and many other uses.)

Nice Looking
Would RecommendMy old incinerator lasted a good 10 years and I am sure the new one will do the same.
