Poor impeller housing materials.
Would RecommendPurchased new and replaced old disposal unit due leaking casting after only 5 years of light home use. The impeller casting metal developed small pinhole leaks and slowly leaked water destroyed my under sink cabinet flooring.

Bought and installed this about a month ago. Installation was pretty straightforward and the unit has work very well.

Okay with one exception
Unit seems to work well, but the strange way the splash guard is set up is a complete fail in my opinion. It doesn't block noise like the splash guard in my old unit did and it allows fairly large items, such as a metal water bottle top, to drop down into the blade area requiring me to constantly retrieve items.

Very Happy
Very happy. I installed it myself and was easy. Only thing I didn’t like was the cord. You need to cut out the existing cord to reuse or purchase a new one. Saw this in utube. Unit works well

Easy to install.
Easy to install. no special tooling needed. The old unit was a badger 1/2 hp but was able to use the same sink trap so it installed very easily.

Good but….
Would RecommendInstalled about a month ago as part of a renovation. Works well but loud metal on metal scraping sound at the end of the cycle, like something is loose. Doing it’s job so not replacing it.

Badger 5XP 3/4 HP
Would RecommendPurchased a couple of months ago. This thing will chew spoons! Nice looking sink mount with Insinkerator name on it. I had it put in in 1 hour. The hardest part was holding it up to mount it into the screw mount. Great disposal!

Quiet
It's pretty quiet. I almost bought the more expensive one because on the box it stated that it's the quietest one on the market. I'll happy I chose this one. Easy install and affordable. I don't put a lot of down there but when I do it does a great job
