Great other than you need but a separate power cord.

BADGER 5XP

This replaced and existing Badger disposal that was well beyond 17 years old. The old started to leak and was freezing up so time to replacel Had a plumber do the job and it only took him 15 minutes to pull out the old and replace the new. Works great, no leaks so here is hoping for another 17 plus years.

Replaced a previous Badger which lasted 14 years.

We made sure that we purchased the same item. It will be interesting to see how long the new model lasts.

THE NEW PRODUCT IS MORE QUIET THAN MY OLD ONE

My new garbage disposal is quieter than my old one and I like the way the rubber stoppers are arranged to stop any objects from falling in.

Good product, similar to the one I replaced.

I would have purchased a Power 900 model but that model is larger in diameter and the sink shut off valve is right behind it and I was afraid it would be too close so I bought the 5XP which is the same diameter as the one I replaced so I knew it would be fine. A little tricky to install but only because the power wire (hard wired) has no slack so a little hard to lift unit up and twist.

Of course we selected another Insinkerator!

After seven years of flawless service we needed to replace the home`s original disposal when a tiny leak manifested at the base of the unit. A worn shaft seal was suspected to be the leak's cause. The replacement unit was another Insinkerator disposal of equivalent wattage. Removal of the old unit took about three minutes to turn the locking ring; another 10 minutes to disconnect/reconnect the a/c plug. Replacing the sink locking attachment required a second trip to the hardware store for a fres...

Replaced a Badger with a new one

My old garbage disposal started leaking and my plumber said I would need to replace it. I believe my previous Badger garbage disposer was 16 years old. I decided to replace it with the Badger 5xp because of the good reviews and because it was similar to what I had. There were no problems with the installation. Only con is it is a little noisy, but I don't mind that because I want to always know when it is engaged.

Got 14 years out of the last one. Hope to sell this house before I need another. Well worth the money and time to install.

The disposal works great.

We replaced a ten year old 1/3 hp model. Because of the tab that prevents the mounting collar from rotating, we had to be resourceful about lining up the unit with the drain. But we solved that problem successfully.

Product work's as expected

This was a replacement for one that was operable for the last 20 years.

Easy install especially if

Easy install especially if you are replacing it with an identical model. It almost fell into place. I also fell on my head when my hand cramped, but that a story for another time!

This is a great unit

This unit was easy to install as it easily "bolted" into the position of the old unit. It's very quiet and does a perfect jog of getting rid of the food waste.

So quiet & powerful

First time I hit the switch? it was so quiet we thought it wasn't working! Takes care of food scraps without effort. Would buy again.

prefect fit

This disposal fix perfectly into my current sink configuration without any issues. Seems to be working fine only time will tell. I am replacing an old insinkerator displosal that we had for over 8 years.

EASY REPLACEMENT with PLUG

I am not an experienced household repair kind of person, but with the snap lock mechanism it was easy to replace/install. YAY! Watch the video provided and instructions in advance. Also, it was VERY IMPORTANT that this unit had the factory installed plug, I would not have wanted to do anything electrical.

Does the job

I purchased this item to replace the same item that had been installed for over a decade. I hope to get similar results with this one. It seems a little noisier than the old one and maybe not as smooth. Time will tell. A month in and it is working as it should. Happy wife, happy life.
