Would RecommendMy home had a Badger 5 that, after many years, died. Upgraded to an XP for a bit more HP and it had the same dimensions, making installation a breeze. There are quieter disposals out there, but that is not a factor that is essential to me.

Easy Self Replacement/Install

Replaced a 2-decade old insinkerator
Would RecommendWe opted for the 3/4 HP Insinkerator vice the 1/2 horse we removed. We are sure we will be happy with it's performance as we already have for several months. It was an easy swap, although I change the flange for the new one as well. Altogether, it took a little over an hour to do, which is not bad as I only do this about once every 5 years among our 3 homes.

A Quality Product at a Fair Price
Would RecommendThe unit works efficiently and shreds the material as a disposal should. Even chicken bones are no match for this "Electric Pig" as it chews them up and spits them out like they don't exist. The InSinkErator is a quality product and it will serve our need for the next 15 years at least.

Powerful and Quiet
Would RecommendThis disposal replaced an existing one that was on its last legs. The Badger 5XP is quiet and powerful and doing a great job. It's a little larger under the sink than our last one, but not significantly. We hired a plumber to install it, so I can't speak to that except to say it took him less than 30 minutes for the entire replacement including the removal of the existing disposal.
