Would RecommendReplacing alternator and the top bolt was so tight it rounded the head trying to remove. Tried several sockets, and vice-grips with no success. Thought my DIY mechanic job was going to be a nightmare. Found the IRWIN bolt extractor and it was amazing how simple the bolt come off.
Did the trick!
Would RecommendAllowed me to easily remove an oil drain plug with a stripped, rounded off head.

My drain bolt was stripped. After I tried some different methods with no luck, I purchased this product and it worked real well.
The right tool set at the right price.
Would RecommendNeeded a bolt extractor kit to remove my 2002 trucks rusty transmission oil pan bolts that I had stripped the heads on - these worked like a charm..

Too small for my bolts!
Would Not RecommendAs some others have said the 13mm socket is just a frustratingly little too small. The set seems very well made and other sizes may work fine but I needed the 13mm, so I am returning it today. btw, this is the first Irwin tool that I have seen with made in USA on it. I hope that will continue.
Worked great!
Would RecommendI used the larger 16 MM on a rounded 15MM oil pan bolt and it worked just fine. Thanks.
Worked on completely rounded bolt
Would RecommendDid tensioner on my f150 5.0 and ac tensioner bolt was completely stripped. I had all but an inch to hammer onto bolt, got it on and got bolt off first try. These dig in so if you don't hammer on I imagine you could further strip a bolt, tap these on then turn. Had I not gotten bolt off it would've been 100 bucks local mechanic, these paid themselves 4 times over first use. Will buy all sets. Word to the wise, don't wait to buy an extractor set, buy one so you have when you need it.
Success!
Would RecommendManaged to strip out a 5/16” allen head bolt while replacing a belt tensioner on my Cummins ISX 15. Fortunately I had worked the bolt out just enough to where I could tap the extractor onto the bolt. Insert the socket wrench - worked straightaway!
Good product
Would RecommendI used it to remove an exhaust manifold nut from my Chevy Tahoe. The sockets are tapered so they work for many applications. I needed a 15mm but the 16mm worked perfect after I applied some heat the the round over nut.
