GET THESE IF YOUR’RE IN A BIND! I rounded off the lower alternator bolt on my 4Runner due to cramped working conditions. After research I found the Irwin Bolt Grip and with all the positive reviews figured I had nothing to lose. I thought this was another good for nothing product, I'm glad I was wrong, the bolts on my car's caliper were so bad and unable to remove but thanks to those little wonders the bolt came right off.

Beware 13 & 10mm Not Actually Included In The Set

I bought this set to remove a stripped 13mm head on a bolt holding a GM wheel hub. The packaging clearly indicates this will work on a 1/2" and 13mm. However, the actual socket only has 1/2" marked on it. Most other sockets have dual range SAE and metric as noted on the packaging except THERE IS NO 13mm INCLUDED and a 1/2" is just a bit too small. Also states 3/8" and 10mm but the socket is only marked 3/8". I'm not sure if that is an issue since I did not use that size. BEWARE if you actu...

Quick, clean and cheap.

I encountered my first stripped drain plug today. I tried a couple pairs of vise grips to no avail and made my way to the store. Sized the most snug extractor up and two turns of a wrench it was hooked. 22mm wrench on the shoulder and it popped loose to finger loosen. Great for hard-to-reach bolts and screws

Worked great to remove a stripped-out Intake manifold isolator screw that was in a very hard to reach location. Works on screws and bolts. Well worth the money.

Oil Plug Drain Stripped

Hammered it on and aside from needing to put some muscle into it, it work like a dream! Glad I didn't have to take apart the oil pan. Well worth it!

Irwin to the rescue!

used them to remove drain plug from an oil pan. easy to use, and save money by not having to take it to a mechanic. well worth the price.

Did not work

Did not work but the bolt was torqued to 90 ft lbs. Everything has limits and perhaps this was too much.

Bolt extractor

Removing flywheel bolts and one would not budge...rounded off bolt. Bought this kit two hits with impact...off it came. Wonderful tool!!!

Rounded bolt on lower pulley

Removed the rounded bolt lower pulley within seconds on 08 Tacoma. Saved me time and money if I had to go to auto repair to get bolt removed. The Irwin is great value and must have tool.

Great Tool

I worked on a chewed up oil pan bolt for about hour with vice grips, channel locks, multiple wrenches and sockets without success. Bought this extractor set and my bolt was out in 10 seconds, actually maybe 5. I was sure I was going to have to go to a shop, but this saved that expense.
