Just what was needed for this project, the poly coating will keep them from corroding a lot longer, and the length .. well, this project wont come apart unless taken apart. ; )

exterior screws

Did the job...not a bad price BUT would most DIYers have this size star wrench in their too box? I did but this is a favorite size and like Philips heads, they were out or are lost. Add a star drive in the pack of screws!

Excellent for outdoor use

I am using these on a new fence and on a trellis I built for honeysuckle. The coating on the screws does not come off and the screws can be backed out without loss of the coating. I like the star shaped drive as opposed to square drive because there is more surface are to drive the screw. I am using 2, 21/2 and 4 in screws in the trellis and fence it is mounted on. I expect it will last about as long as I will.

i use them for just about everything. i hate drywall screws for anything except drywall

Easy to use

Very easy to use. It comes with the required bit. Hard to strip the screws. Just put it together last week, so I don't know how they will hold up, but I expect it should last

Excellent Screws

These work really well. First time using star-drive screws. They do not strip like the phillips head ones. Rarely is it necessary to drill pilot holes, even in pressure treated lumber. Definitely worth the money.

Best type of deck screw drive

The primary feature of this deck screw for me is the "Star-Drive." I used square drive deck screws for a while but since the first time I purchased a Star-drive I will not use any other kind. They absolutely do not strip out, do not require you to put a lot of pressure on the drill in order to stay engaged with the screw, and the head is still good if you need to remove it later.

Hard to use

It is very hard to get the screws to stand up straight while starting them. The star drive should be tighter or deeper to allow it to stay on the bit while stating the screw. The Phillips and posi drive work better. I would not buy these again.

I thought they would strip the heads since they were star shaped and i was using a impact driver and screwing them into 4×6 together but were very strong and very high quality product would recommend these screws
