What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise the 80V string trimmer and blower combo for exceptional power, quiet operation, and impressive battery longevity. Most highlight that performance matches or exceeds gas-powered models while being significantly quieter and lighter. The 2Ah and 2.5Ah batteries consistently complete full yard jobs on single charges, with many users appreciating the ecosystem compatibility across multiple tools. However, several customers report the bump feed string mechanism is unreliable, prone to tangling and jamming, with poor line separation causing frustration. Despite this flaw, most consider the overall performance and convenience worthwhile and remain loyal to the brand.

Great Product for a simple light job.
Would RecommendWorks great! Easy and convenient to use. I have used string trimmers like this before but this is the first one I've ever owned, and I love it. With this I am able to do a complete edge trim of about 500ft length with 1 40V 2Amp battery.

Buy at your own risk. Doesn't last.
Would Not RecommendRan for 10 minutes then the motor started smoking and burnt up. Not a very well built tool if it can't last longer than that. Called customer service and it said I was 159 in line. Left message and haven't heard from them since. Not a very good company to deal with.

Works as advertised - wish debris cover was larger
Would RecommendWorks as advertised! I was surprised how much debris comes back towards me when using the trimmer...wish the plastic cover was a little bit bigger to deflect it.

Works well
Would RecommendThis tool works well. Battery charged in 30 minutes. Full charge lasts throughout, full performance until battery shut off. Bump feed for the line advancement stuck on the second time used, easily fixed by removing spool cap.

Well built
Very well built, but heavy. Luckily it comes with a shoulder belt which carries a lot of the load. Performs very well, and the line feed worked longer than my old trimmer. It also has an on/off power button which shuts power off if you aren't currently using it (nice safety feature). Another thing I like is that it can accept both the large 40 volt or the small 40 volt battery.

Trimmer Replacement
Would Recommendthis is a replacement unit and it is working great like all my other GreenWorks Tools.

Great product
Would RecommendIt went together easily and works as advertised. Some have complained about the lack of replacement spools but the instructions for reloading the spool seem straight forward. I feel like it eats the battery quicker than the Greenworks 40V chainsaw but I still finished my yard with 2 out of 4 (half) battery lights. Not needing to mix fuel is fantastic.

Great compliment to my Greenworks lawnmower
Would RecommendWell built — not an abundance of cheap plastic. Easy to operate and uses the same size 40 volt battery as the GW lawnmower I purchased a couple of years back. This multitool has a WIDE array of available attachments making the name “string trimmer” somewhat a misnomer. Note: It’s quieter than those noisy gas operated devices but still not quiet (to my ears) when in operation; of course it’s perfectly quiet when ON but not spinning, unlike gas operated trimmers.

Battery compatibility not clear
Would RecommendBought this trimmer planning to use it with a couple of 2Ah batteries I have for my chainsaw, as these are listed as compatible when you look at the kit (trimmer, battery and charger) specifications. They work, but after about 5 minutes the trimmer shuts down and the batteries are too hot to touch. You cannot even charge them unless you wait about an hour for them to cool down, If you try to charge them before that the charger shows the batteries are charged. So I have to buy a 4Ah battery, but ...
