Love the control from my iPhone.

Easy set up and works well. I specifically wanted this for when we travel and are returning home to set “normal” temperatures when we arrive.

Battery life

I had this thermostat for about a year and a half and the battery died to the point it would not power up. I called Google the guy told me warranty had ran out and i would have purchase a new unit.

Finally the correct thermostat

It works very but the programming took a long time to understand. This is the thermostat you need if you have four wires and no C wire.

Does not last, replaced after 1 year

Concept is great, the American lazy way of controlling everything with your phone but the product does not last. Replaced after 1 year under warranty but replacement maybe lasted another year? and then its out of warranty. It randomly dropped the wifi and you would have to re-enter it even though it was 10 feet line of site from the router. Went back to a Honeywell. I'll admit I loved adjusting the heat/air from the bed but just as peeved a $180 thermostat won't last a year.

Buy with Caution

Buy with caution. Although advertised as not needing a "C" wire unless advised by the app, it will not work without a C wire. When I installed, the app did not mention I needed a C wire for my heat only installation, but after several months of use my furnace started cycling on and off. Repairman came and immediately focused on the thermostat. After a through checkup of the furnace, he confirmed it was the thermostat. Replaced it with a Sensi and all is well. The Sensi works because it has 2 AA ...

The instruction does not mention you may need to charge the unit before using it. I spent 30 minutes couldn't figure out why it does not work...

Don't buy this. Worst purchase I've made in the last thirty years. Google can't make a quality product, period.

Comfort

My family room is about 5° cooler than at the thermostat. It’s nice to have the sensor in my family room its now comfortable at 68°.

Perfect for a two story home

we have a two-story home and with only the downstairs thermostat, we were having issues with the upstairs becoming extremely warm during the day, even when the heat downstairs was set on 60 and it was 30° outside. I swapped out our previous thermostat for a Nest and added one of these sensors to our bedroom upstairs. during the day, when my husband who works nights and myself who works at home are both upstairs, our thermostat runs off the upstairs sensor. I guess it works?

I bought this sensor to heat my sons bedroom when he's sleeping since his room tends to be cooler. It does work for that but you are forced to use Nest's preset time slots for when to use the remote sensor. Not convenient at all. Seems like setting my own times should be a very basic feature. Not happy, may be returning this sensor and the learning thermostat.

Nest

The nest is great, haven’t had it long but I like it so far. Just a heads up if it doesn’t turn on when you hook it up try charging it with the usb in the back. It may take awhile but it will get there. Also having trouble syncing the temperature sensor to the nest but it may be operator error as I’ve seen people connect it in about ten seconds. Haven’t tried too much being that my house is smaller. Great purchase.

Gift

Bought as a gift. Have not used it yet but Lowes was very quick with purchase and delivery ahead of Christmas.
