3 of 4 quit working after three years.
Would Not RecommendI bought a total of four nest thermostats and three of the four quit working in a little over three years (won't call for heat). Of course, only a two year warranty. Not happy about spending that much money for three years of use. I replaced Nest with Ecobee, and so far no issues. Ecobee also integrates with more smart home technology/applications.

Would Not RecommendOnly gave this item 1 star due to it's ease of adding to app and thermostat. Other than that, it does not work as advertised. Nest states the Smart Sensor is able to be scheduled to control the main thermostat. What they don't tell you is the schedule is pre-set into 4 time periods that are not changeable, nor do they tell you the time periods unless you search online for it. Would Not RecommendI was fairly happy with the thermostat until two months out of warranty, when the thermostat suddenly refuse to find or connect to any network. After hours of tech support "help", they determined what I already knew from online searching - the device is defective, and Google refuses to do anything other than tell me to purchase another one. Now we can be comfortable in any part or the house
Would RecommendComfortable made easy. We live in a 2 story townhouse and our Nest thermostat is on the first floor. We would have problems staying comfortable while we were upstairs. The Nest was reading the temp downstairs and adjusting according to that. Getting this helped us use the temperature up stairs at night. So now whether heat or A/C, we can stay comfortable up or down. Point of advice - place it in a spot where you want the temperature maintained.

Would RecommendEasy to set-up, our split-level with heat only is difficult to keep the temperature regulated via the only thermostat in the house in the upstairs hallway. Put this downstairs and can maintain temperature based on either the upstairs thermostat or this temperature sensor via the Nest app. Don't have to constantly be tinkering!
