I have a smart TV as well, and the new Chromecast allows my old tv to work exactly like my smart tv. The only downside is that unlike the old Chromecast the new one MUST be plugged into a wall outlet instead of plugging it into the TV USB.

10/10 Way better than Roku. For some reason, I wasn’t able to stream Hulu from my phone reliably. I have 0 issues with casting to the TV now.

Amazing device... the remote needs work.

I really love this device. It makes streaming content so easy and, to my surprise, it communicates with my old AV receiver. I can't say enough good things about the device.The remote control is handy but needs to be redesigned. There are two primary issues. Goggle Chromecast TV

Works great. I have a little older smart TV and it doesn't have some of the apps, ie: HBO Maxx, peacock. With the Chromecast TV I have all the apps at my fingertips.

Just 1 Bad Thing

It's great for almost everything when it comes to making your TV smart, having voice and home hub control, accessing many different apps and your home cameras. All so simple and nice. Should be a 5 star product. But the sound quality is just so horrible. Not up to the hype

Chrome cast was advertised to be compatible with Directv. It is if you want to cast everything! The Directv app cannot be downloaded; this is so inconvenient. Not happy so I switched to Roku.

Well made

This was perfect for non-smart tv as I now can use all my networks that I have on my laptop. It is very compatible with my Google phone and earbuds.

Not the quality I would expect from Google

Okay so I got this chromecast in the play and watch bundle. First thing I noticed is there is no ethernet port like there was on the chromecast ultra I wonder why but I can buy one for an additional cost thanks google. Second thing this is much worse at playing Google stadia then the CCU. It definitely has something to do with having no ethernet, a much worse experience in general. Easy set up, straight forward use

Easy set up! Search function is exactly what our family needed. Would buy again! Integration with Google products (pixel and nest) are synced.

Great UI but horrible connectivity, wired and wireless

Constant connectivity issues. I consistently get 1200mbps download on compatible AC devices and around 500mbps on N compatible devices. My chromecast with Google TV will not reach speeds of 50mbps wired and constantly has buffering issues across all apps. It's completely unusable some days. Chromecast with Google TV

Very hard (if not impossible) to see the schedule of upcoming shows for each network. Also, cannot easily move from from one network to another as there is no way to input which network you want to see (with the exception of YouTube or Netflix). Some of the networks don't have a clear or sharp picture and it's very hard to see what is going on in a show or game and it's virtually impossible to read anything on the screen. Turning On TV

Chromcast is a good device, allowing you to have your streaming subscriptions all in one place. The most I like about this device is that you can use your Google Voice assistant to turn your TV On and Off by voice command. However, few times if failed to turn TV On while Voice Assistant reported that TV is On. Remote needs work.

The Chromecast itself works great and I have no real input for Google TV.The remote, however, is in need of some serious TLC. This may be an issue with communication to the Chromecast on either end, but it needs to be resolved.The remote is often sluggish or drops inputs entirely. Inputs will lag and all be entered at once after several seconds. The power button will turn on the TV but not wake the Chromecast for some reason. The Assistant button is pretty much useless. Too Much

I like the original Google Chrome a lot. This one had way to many ads and extra steps. Ended up taking it back.

Feels like cable

The chromecast remote made our transition from traditional “plugged” cable feel seamless. The sleek design of the controller has a natural/comfortable feel in your hand, the buttons depress effortlessly, and navigating the channel/movie guides

Good but room for improvement

Generally pleased. It has some great features (Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, HDR10 ). I subtracted two stars because (1) I wish the buttons were concave - it's too easy to accidentally push buttons when it's laying on the couch. It would also be nice if it were aluminum / more sleak but that's more cosmetic and unrelated to functionality. (2) Dislike how the home page features the paid movies before my subscriptions.
