Too much play

Too much play in all the components, holes turn out crooked. Ended up taking the metal ring off and using clamps to secure it directly to the boards. Works much better.

Hardware is strong.

Not used yet but good instructions.

Dowel Jake which will help me glue joints on pieces of furniture.

This was simple to use and a good value for the cost

Don’t buy

The hole jig is very accurate, but the mix of plastic and metal components don’t work. Plastic thread stripped and no longer holds in place.

i bought this jig because my prior experience with General Tool was that their quality was excellent, looks like some bean counter took over ? and dropped quality

Not an accurate doweling tool

Looking at KREG jigs, I ran across this dowelling tool again that I purchased a number of years ago. Believe the reviews-it is a bad tool. Basically have to oversize the holes to get alignment and stuff the holes with gorilla glue. Should have returned.

Holes don’t drill straight

Great idea but poor execution. There a good amount of flex in the brackets around the jig. The jig barrel itself is held in place with a spring which allows you to change the diameter of the bit but this means there play in the barrel, if you angle the drill at all the hole becomes crooked. Nearly impossible 2 make 2 identical holes. Fails at the whole point of a jig

no redeeming factors

Bought this to goue up a table top and it actually made it harder than anything else i could have done. Holes were drilled not exactly so you have to make sure you are aligning exactly as you need to, then the holes dont drill at exactly 90, the guide wobbles like no other, the drill bits arent balanced so adding the stop guide makes them un usable.. save yourself the money and dont buy this… would return if i hadnt used it for the whole table

Not very accurate. This product does not instill confidence in the tool.

Don't waste your time and money.

I bought one of these 5 years ago. It was ok for rough work but does not work for anything nice. When you set the center of the dowel it only locks on one side. That can move when using hardwoods. The rotating turret will move when drilling. It does not produce holes at a right angle to the face being drilled.

Bad, but not the worst

This tool is far from perfect. It does what I wanted it to do; drill perpendicular holes. I have actually disassembled it completely for drilling on large pieces of wood. I bought this as a temporary solution until I build a large enough workshop to have a drill press. I recommend this if you're not looking for perfection and willing to think outside the box to get it to work for you. I used additional clamps, disassembled both partially and fully, and even reversed the top clamp for an unusual ...

Worse than I thought

I only wanted this for 1 small project and only bought this one because I thought to myself "It can't be as bad as the reviews", well it is. It looks great out of the box but just is not worth buying. Drilled 4 holes with this item then did the rest by hand and the by hand ones were easier.

Crap

Do not buy this, I have literally never seen a bigger piece of crap in my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm serious save your money, buy a different one!
