Works well

For my uses this caliper works well. The calibration is accurate right out of the box. The only caveat is that the jaws are made of carbon fiber so they have a little bit of flex to them, consequently if you use more pressure than just contacting what you are measuring it will cause the reading to be slightly off. You just have to have a light touch when using to get accurate measurements.

very happy now that I can get accurate measurements on my wood projects. My old dial calipers were ok but subject to inaccuracies due to the round dial moving on me. the digital display can give me readings down to fractions of an inch.

Bad readings

This caliper is really not good if accurate measurements are needed. The reading will change up and down & up and down .00 inch or more without even touching the caliper. Very strange. Taking it back. Someone, please make a reliable 3" fraction caliper! PS this is the second one from General brand I have had this problem with.

Great tool

A great addition to my project tools, I love the ease of switching from one reading to another. Wish I'd bought this years ago ( providing it was available).

Micrometer

Purchased this to measure brake line width as well as to use for reloading ammunition. Seems to be very accurate although I would have preferred just a non digital which was not available in the store. English measurements seem to always end up on a 32nd or 64th when measuring known nominal widths of 1/2, 1/4 or 1/8....even after zeroing multiple times, so it may be more accurate than what I was needing for a brake line but just right for reloading, rifle building etc. Handy, easily converts to...

Worked for 30 seconds, then electronic problems

I was quite happy with the inexpensive nature of this purchase. When I got it home, I opened the box and started to experiment with it for my kids science fair project. It would have been perfect, as we needed high precision with our length measurements. There is no way to cleanly expand or contract the device to the length desired. Great product

Very accurate! Only problem battery was dead, had to buy new battery. No safety tab on included batter.

Description is incorrect. No depth gauge.

I bought this micrometer with a necessity of a depth gauge. The little bump at the bottom prevents the micrometer from opening any further. I should have gave it a better look over than to trust the info on the descriptions box online. My little oversight was a big waste of time. With that being said, the measurements are fairly accurate. If your measurement requirements are 1/1000" or less, this mic will work just fine. If you think you will use a depth gauge, this isn't the right mic.

I work with CNC machines and needed a way to measure vwry accurately. This tool is easy to use and accurate.

Home Use Only

This is a plastic instrument. For the price, it is perfect for occasional use at home. Displays in standard, metric, or standard fraction. Very useful, just don't expect it to compare to one used in a machine shop.

Very Poor Quality

The lightweight plastic of these calipers feel as though it should cost $5. Also the button to switch from SAE to Metric does not work. The calipers are permanently stuck in metric mode. I'll be returning these and purchasing real calipers from a trusted manufacturer.

Caliper, Electronic

Came with no instructions. it would have been nice to know how to use the device, without trail and t=error to figure how to use. Manufacturing defect, no instructions included.

This Caliper helps to measure easier.

My son ask if I could buy him a caliper for his labs in grad school. He stated that it would knock a page of work off each lab. So we went to Staples and when we asked for a caliper their faces froze and had no idea what we were talking about. Office Max and several others did the same thing and then I thought that it would also help builders so I went to Lowe's and they had the high tech one which has worked great.

The Perfect Shirt Pocket Caliper

These are the perfect shirt pocket calipers and perfect for trips to the hardware store or stock room. There are no sharp corners to tear up your pocket and they weigh 31 grams, 1.1 ounce or less than a dollar fifty in quarters.
