Damaged Generator

Would Not Recommend

I bought a 24kw generator from Lowes online and for some reason it was not available for pickup in store so I chanced it and had it delivered. It showed up today and I helped the Estes driver unload it on to my tractor...not sure why Estes was involved. then he stuck his hand out and said "a little sumpm sumpm"? Anyway, there were 2 holes in the box and the generator was damaged. I called Estes and they said to call Lowe's. here are some pics.

I paid in full for my Generac one year ago and I still don't have a working generator. They hired a subcontractor that is located 4 hours away from my home in South Florida. They waited 6 months to apply for the installation permit and another 6 months to install. Ordered a Generac generator through Lowe's because I thought it would be an easy process. Had a horrible experience with both Lowe's customer service and Colonial Generators, the installer of the generator. Should have purchased it through a local installer to avoid spending additional monies for repairs and aggravation and frustration in the process. Will no longer be shopping at Lowe's.

I have been in this process since 9/2022 (16 months total) and the only thing good I can say about the experience is the generator itself and the price (but looking back I think I got what I paid for?). Lowe's promised a 10 year warranty - that didn't happen. The installer A Plus Contractors from South Shore, KY is unreliable at best. It took them 3-4 service calls to get the inspections completed because they did not know what permits were needed. They could never figure out why I could not get...

Best thing I've ever bought for the house

Having our own well for water, when there's no power, there's no water. Have a portable Gen that can hook up to the house but that's a pain at 5am to take a shower. My wife works from home now and this generator with the transfer switch gives me the peace of mind that she doesn't have to go out and try to hook up the portable and get it started. Buyer Beware: 4 months later still not installed

I purchased a whole house backup generator and installation in early Sept 2023. Reluctantly I paid 100% upfront. It’s now Jan 8 2024 and the installation is not done. They already have my money and no one seems to care. Buyer beware!
