Lifesaver

I bought this generator in 2020 while it was on sale at H.D. it sat in my garage until the Texas deep freeze that just passed, thank GOD that I had it, I was able to easily start it and power my essentials in my house, had it not been for the generator it would have been a very chilly and desperate time. I encourage everyone to have a home generator for power outages, it will save your life, thanks to Generac for making a reliable and safe product.

Absolute LIFESAVER

We went and purchased our unit at Lowes on the 21st of February We had no electricity so we decided to go to lowes and look they had just received a shipment! We got one and got it going that night we used it to power refrigerator and space heaters and a light! Thanks for making such an awesome product

Life Saver

I purchase this unit during the recent Polar Freeze that we all experienced. Instructions for the unit was very good and the unit was easy to get up and running starting on the first pull. It was truly a life saver. We were close to being out of firewood for the fireplace, the refrigerator and freezer had been off for 4 days therefore on the verge of everything thawing. Had a space heater running and a couple of lamps. It handled everything with no problems. It ran 15 hours on 5 gallons of gas...

All around good for the price

Everything you need an nothing you don't. Could have had more features but it has everything to do the job.

Good Generator

Have not had to use yet, but it starts easy and the directions are easy.

Need to include a 240v-t0-120v adapter

Assembly was easy, directions were clear and parts well identified. The unit started easily on first pull. We had a problem with a "smart" refrigerator tripping the 20 amp breaker, so we rigged up an a-dapter to provide 120v from the 30 amp 240v receptacle. The home-made a-dapter worked, but Generac should include a proper 240v/120v adapter for the 30 amp receptacle so that the capabilities of the unit can be fully utilized from the get-go with scrambling for a home-made remedy.

Major Problem

I live in hurricane country. That means rain. This thing cannot be operated in rain, so it does me no good. I will have to get a machine that works in bad weather.

WORKED LIKE A CHARM. WILL NEVER BE WITHOUT IT!

Bought generator and brought it home. Carton showed a 20amp cord, however none at Lowe's contained a cord. Generac finally sent me one (not one but two! separate shipments) I purchased a 30 amp cord from Amazon in order to connect to my house panel. The 1st power outage lasted about 5 hours...but what a blessing to have the generator. I ran everything in the household but my air conditioner! It may have powered it but with use of elec oven and microwave, etc, did not not wish to chance it. WORKE...

I bought it in case of power outages, so far I have not had to use it. The reviews I have gotten from friends is the main reason I bought it.

Exactly what I wanted and needed.

I bought this to replace a generator I've had since 1999. It was a 5500 kw and was very basic. It worked ok but was not powerful enough. I need one with more power and extra startup power. Also needed some safety features. The GP 6500 w/8175 startup power fit the bill perfectly. I had it 1 week and had 3 break-in hours on it and we had a storm go through that knocked the power out. This buyer had many choices with various makes & models. Early comparison might even find higher power units for similar cost but many are foreign components using a familiar brand name. Very user friendly product. Cranks up first time, every time. Delivers the power when I need to load up the generator to run the air conditioner. Delivered power to every necessary appliance when we were out of power due to the hurricane. Air conditioning when it was so hot and humid that you could not even sleep at night without sweating buckets. Microwave food when it was necessary to have a quick bite to eat. This product appears to meet all Generac high standards

Fortunately, I haven't had an outage since purchase, but set up was easy and startup successful. But without a real test, I can only say that I expect it to perform in an outstanding way, just like the other DR/Generac products that I have. Brush mower, trimmer mower, drag/harrow.

Haven't used it yet but looking forward to it. We live in a hurricane prone area and have dealt with power outages many times over the past 15 years. Most have been for 3 days or more. Although I am not looking forward to the next hurricane, when it does hit I know I will be ready
