Would RecommendGreat for limited use with excelent fuel economy. Nice circuit breaker & start/stop switch convienently located on panel---unlike its big brother the GP5500. One notable design flaw being the pull start is buried by panel & needs to be pulled on an angle resulting in both the loss of paint on the adjacent frame member and an appearing to begin fraying pull cord after 3-4 weeks useage. I hope they correct this bt placing the handle on the pull start outside of the pnel with the cord passing throu...

The gen. does what I hoped for. Would buy again!
Would RecommendNot all at the same time of course, but it ran my 8,000 btu a/c (7.5amps), 1200w toaster oven, and microwave (12.4amps). Bought for use of fridge and another small freezer. Was thinking of separate use, but the fridge uses 6.5 amps and the freezer less, so it would mostly likely run them both together. They don't have to run 24/7 to stay cold. My heating system has an emergency setting that doesn't need external electricity. Also bought ($20) a small timer that counts up to 90 hours, to help w/m...

Peace of mind
Would RecommendI just got my Generac Generator today. All I can say is WOW. The unit was very easy to set up and the engine is STRONG. I tested it today with the following: I ran (2) refridgerator/freezers, (2) TV's, a box fan and a lamp and the engine never slowed down. The unit is also very quiet. I could hardly hear it from inside the house. Sleeping should not be an issue during a power outage and my neighbors should not complain, other than wishing they had one. I highly recommend this unit. If you hav...

this generator has issues
Would Not RecommendI used this product for 4 day camping trip, My A/C uses 1680 watts and the generator is 3250 watt and it kept shutting off. I had an issue with the gas valve one day , next day kept tripping the breaker, and the last day power switch broke. went to lowes saw one on the floor that said the power switch was replaced. So if your are thinking about buying one of these think it through first . I have had nothing but bad luck first 4 days of use. I am returning this and getting a better quality genera...

Gets the job done.
Would RecommendThis Generator works as expected, it not too loud and certainly gets the job done. I got this in a rush after a storm without knowing anything about it; however, I would buy again if I had the option.

On first use it saved more than it cost in potential food loss !!!
Would RecommendAn absolute blessing to our family- -Couldn't believe the Lowes had one left in inventory after the Virginia Power outage June 29th. Got it home, put the wheels and handle on it - 15 minutes later it began running to save our fridge and freezer. I was able to connect and run a couple fans plus our TV cable/internet setup too. I shared our internet with our cul-de -sec during the outage. I was shocked that it ran all night on a tank. Very economical. This was our first generator and will NEVER be...

Great well designed product.
Would RecommendI bought my generator the day after the Jun 29th 2012 storm that hit Virginia and knocked out all the power. We were without power for 5 days and I was able to run my refrigerator, fans, satellite tv and lights all at the same time. I have been well pleased with my purchase. It is a well designed, compact unit that is easy to start and is gas efficient.

Not Happy
Would Not RecommendI purchased the 3250 in March 2011, used it one time in March of 2012 and it stopped working. No problem I knew it had a two year warranty and there is a service dealer in my area. Can't remember right off which part went bad but it has been on back order since I took it is in March, it is now June and I still don't have my generator. Before the service dealer knew my generator was under warranty I was quoted $350 to fix a generator I only paid $375 to buy. Seems Generac would just replace my ge...

very pleased with purchase
Would Recommendfor years I've been spending $1000.00 on a 2000 watt Honda generator. Not any more! the Generac has more power, costs less than half the price, and comes with wheels too. It starts on the 1st or second pull and uses gas pretty sparingly. overall I am very pleased I chose Generac.

Good price and quality for simple emergency backup gen
Would RecommendThis simple and affordable generator will run my furnace and frig and a couple lights, plenty to get by on during an emergency. It's small enough to roll thru a 30" door so I leave it in the basement where it is warm. I can then take it outside to start it in zero temps and 2 pulls max after filling with fuel and it's making power. It takes half the effort to start than a 5000 watt model and man is it easy on fuel. Sure beats a $7000 stand by unit. Will use it next summer when building a pole ba...

Ease of use and main features for home backup.
Would RecommendEasy to setup and handles exactly what I needed: Fridge, oil burner, and some lights & outlets to provide TV, radio, etc! All this and in addition very quiet which was a critical requirement. The standard wheel kit, handle bar and compact size easily stores in the garage. I plan on using it this spring to power my electric chain saw, hedge and weed trimmers which will help keep it maintained through the summer.

small & power
Would RecommendThis generator runs my 5hp 13gal compressor. Which powers all my air power tools It also takes all it has though powers my worm drive skill saw. We have 60 acers so it allow me to travel and work any where being small and light. More power than my 3000 and much small than my 5500
Great for the price. Does what it's supposed to.
Would RecommendBought it at Menard's for a good price. Use it for emergency back up (ie power outages). Runs our fridge, some lights, cell phone chargers, etc... Can also use it for sump back up but not at the same time as the fridge (we should have gotten a more powerful unit for that).

Good homeowners back up.
Would RecommendThe unit was easy to set up and start, runs quiet and kept my appliances going during an extended outage. Nice to have the peace of mind that my food didn't spoil and I had some lights and power for a radio, 'too bad the cable TV signal was out'. The generator is light and easy to move around, there are no storage issues since it is compact and well designed to fit in the shed corner.

Saved the week
Would RecommendI bought this after a heavy ran storm and power outage last year. I researched it and found it was the best for the price in it's range. Had it delivered to the door and put it away for a year. When Irene threatened this summer I finally added the oil and gas and it fired right up. I did not need it until we lost power last Sunday, October 30. It was out until Friday, Nov. 4. It powered my hot water heater, my sump pump, my big refrigerator, and after I figured out how to cut into my furnace wir...

Good little generator
Would RecommendHave worked in the retail market in the past selling Generac generators and have found them to be a very dependable unit. So when it came time to buy, I went Generac. Would have liked to see a 12v outlet, but I work around that.

Runs Well
Would Recommendmy generator runs well, except for some throttle hunting issues and the GFI plugs tripping too often. Overall the unit works good and is pretty quiet for this type of generator. I was dissapointed to find however, that it is not made in USA.
