Easy to Install

These brackets are fine. Easy to install and seem sturdy enough. A suggestion to those who have complained about stripping or shearing the screws: bar soap. Take the screws and rub the threads over some bar soap. Get a little of the soap embedded in the threads (you don’t need a lot). The soap acts as a lubricant and the screw goes in easy peasey.

Brackets perfect for my basement rail

My basement rail had only 3 old brackets which needed replacing as I constantly caught my fingers on them. I replaced the 3 and added 4 more (total 7) for good solid support. These brackets have the perfect loop so my fingers slide past. I need the handrail to help me up and down the stairs. As I age, I put more pressure on the rail. These brackets are good and strong (look nice too). I installed them... very easy.

Looks good, and easier to install than the old style brackets.

Rail Brackets

I used three of these to mount a composite hand rail for my deck. I mounted them about 30" apart and the installation appears to be sturdy.

Beautiful and Sturdy

Replaced the builder grade hardware with these. Looks amazing and there is NO more movement in the handrail. Easy to install. I used a short drywall screw to make my pilot holes. It worked better than the drill bit.

Nice looking brackets

Brackets look great but a few miner things, couple of the brackets had small nicks in them I used a black sharpie to cover them up also one screw that attaches the bracket to the wall was bent.

Do a Good Job

Thes brackets look nice and are sturdy. The screws a decent quality. None tried to strip out even using an impact driver. I did pre-drill all holes, but also wanted to be sure I hit studs.

Very sturdy mounting system. We used three and the rail is extremely tight.

Double check before purchase

We bought 5 of these for a hallway railing and a bedroom railing and we absolutely LOVE them. So...when we decided to put up a few shelves, we decided to use the same thing...trouble was, we purcahsed, and had to return some, because they were defective. Manufacturer problem, but you could not see thru the packages well enough to see anything wrong...so...when we took them back, we found more, and the new packaging is clear...but...REALLY look these over. The shelves AND railings all look wonder...

80% of the ones I ordered arrived damaged

These seem like decent brackets for the very attractive price, but I can't install them. They're individually packaged -- including the loose screws -- in thin plastic bags and were literally stuffed into the mailing box. I ordered a few dozen, to replace the brackets on three stair handrails, and 4 out of every 5 are damaged. Looks like the screws rubbed the finish off the backplates. The finish was scratched down to the bare metal. Ridiculous that Lowes would package this way. Another ra...
