Excellent watch

Bought this for military and everyday wear. The band is comfortable and durable big and does not make my wrist sweat. Light weight yet built with great quality. The watch function itself it’s spectacular. Love the gps mode making life much easier. Also tracking work outs and normal day life. 100% recommend this watch for all tactical and everyday watch wearers

All around perfect watch

I bought this two weeks ago and it’s just an all around perfect watch. If you’re an outdoors man of any kind and/or do any physical activities, weight lifting, cycling, or anything like that, this watch is for you!!

Great Watch, Very Durable. Mapping and Coordinates are awesome feature. Battery Lasts me about 2 weeks on average. Keeping track of my workouts, hikes and runs is a motivation to work harder and apps make it easy and so much detail.

Amazing features and battery life.

I would highly recommend this watch to anybody out there looking for a smart watch that doesn’t have to be connected to your phone. It’s a watch that’s independent.

Love this watch

I first want to say Garmin has the best customer service out there today! I had a instinct solar tactical and upgraded to the 2. I love it. From the look to the easy to use interface. I also noticed a huge difference in the battery life. I have had it now for almost three weeks and have not had to charge it yet. The solar panels must have been upgraded on this model. Also the vibrating function for alerts is much more subtle and quiet.

Watch battery lasts a very long time, very durable and has the features that I need to use it on duty and on the weekends. The only thing can could be improved is an mp3 function like the Venu so that I wouldn't need to take my phone on runs for music. The navigation features include an MGRS coordinates option which is very useful when finding grid locations. The flashlight function isn't really effective but it's a cool afterthought.

Has everything you need and then some

I got this for mountain biking and gym exercising. It had to be durable, easy to read, have great battery life, and have a heart rate monitor. This watch has a few more whistles and buzzers than I need (for now) but I can see how others would find them handy. The solar feature is just a nice feature but I just charge it normally.

User Interface is horrendous

Battery life is as advertised. Features are solid. But navigating the UI is the worst I’ve ever experienced. Even when I manage to get where I need, the watch still seems to malfunction, constant buzzing, black screen, etc.

Reliability with amazing metrics

I have been using garmin instict for about 5 years now. They are extremely reliable watches and only replaced the first one to get all the new features on Instinct 2. The sleep metrics and most recently, the morning update (a recent software update) provides me with the information I need to tackle my workouts for the day. Sometimes balancing work and workouts can be difficult but it really helps me know when I need more sleep to get through the rest of my week.

Even better

I started with the original Instinct, in the orange color. I loved that watch, how tough it was etc. unfortunately the battery started to die so I switched to the Instinct 2 solar tactical edition. This version is leaps and bounds better, from the ability to charge via sunlight to the medical applications and improved sleep tracking. I haven't used it's GPS more than a few times for tracking walks or runs, but it's done more than needed so far. I love that it'll tell me when I'm ready for the ne...

Amazing quality, long battery life

Everything I hated about my Apple Watch was fixed in this watch. It's low key, not flashy, light, solar charged, robust and reliable. It does everything I need it to do and more.

Amazing

This watch can do anything, if you are fishing, deep in the jungle, or stuck in Death Valley, I have never had it die on me, it takes around 3ish hours to charge one day in sun, but it must be a lot of sunlight, it only worked for me when I was being hammered by the sun on a boat, other than that this watch has a lot of things that a normal person doesn't need also has the occasional bug for updates, but definitely is a really cool watch that I do not regret getting.

Good features

I have had this for about one month. I am not a large frame person and was afraid it might be too large on my wrist but the watch fits great. The band is a bit long, but I ordered a different one and it is fine. The features on this watch work well. I like the gps with bread crumbs. I have had several other brands of fitness watches but this is the best so far. The solar charging works great as do the other health metrics. I highly recommend this.

Well made

Wanted to try a garmin watch after coming off an Apple Watch. Garmin watch was very accurate and clear when using compass features when hiking also wear it to workout to keep track. Very nice time piece wish it had a touch screen but no complaints.

So far, great watch!

I wish I would have known about the Instinct 2X when I purchased this but oh well... I do really like this watch and I'm really amazed that they have so much technology crammed into such a small package. I still haven't even begun to explore all its features. I do wish I could find a screen protector for it though - nothing sticks.
