cheap bic lighter in a plastic sleeve. I got it for 1/2 price and it was still overpriced

Unbelievably bad

To think people paid upwards of 30 dollars for this cheap cigarette lighter in a poorly constructed plastic striker is insane. Lowes had this for 5 dollars and I still feel ripped off. It can't hold a flame for more than a second and while fiddling with it hoping to get it to work the tiny rubber hose that connects the lighter to the striker flung off into the ether. Hilariously bad.

lights second try almost everytime

Good, small compact tool. Bought to use on ski patrol to thaw out safety buckles, carbiners and other frizen metal objects. It never lights first try unless its already primed and even its a miss sometimes. Its hard to use the safety switch and hard to press the on switch. The flame is very short even when adjusted to high flame. Can’t speak to longevity as Ive not had it bery long but each ofvthe two times Ive needed it in the cold enviroment I could mor get it to light no matter how man...

This torch does not operate as advertised. Operation is intermittent!

Don’t buy this

Don’t buy this, Thought it was going to be a little torch to help heat up some shrink tube. Turns out it’s just a $25 lighter. Doesn’t even stay lit for more than a couple seconds. What a waste of money, I’m returning mine ASAP!!!

Trash

This item is a basically cigarette lighter which doesn’t work. I’m embarrassed for Lowe’s for carrying it.

Sheesh

Very cheap, comes apart easy, small lighter inside as you can see from the other reviews, and lights 1 time for about every 100-200 strikes. Refilled about 5 times cleaned inspected taken apart and checked everything in detail. Very cheap and definitely not worth the price, I loves lowes and their products but im very supprised their still carrying them after bad reviews everywhere you look for this lighter at.

Explosion

When I got home with the torch I tried it out and seemed to work fine. The next morning I was going to use it and as I was setting up it exploded. It was laying on the bench by itself when the lighter inside failed I found parts of the lighter but never found the outer case. There was no flame. I returned it the next day.

Not what lowes is selling this as

Lowes is selling this in the plumbing section for soldering copper pipe, it is quite literally a cigarette lighter. It might be useful for the manufacturer's intended purpose, but is is utterly useless for sweating pipe.

Useless

First off when you open it up to fill it you realize it's literally just a cigarette lighter inside this plastic case. Then when You go to use it after about 10 clicks It will light and stay lit for roughly 3 seconds. Completely useless

cheap and ineffective

It is just a plastic housing for a little butane lighter. The flame is so tiny it seems like a joke. Not really good for anything.

Didnt work

I bought it and it never stayed on.it would just start the little flame and just like a flash it was on and it was off.nevet anything what a torch should do.a waste of $23

Piece of trash!

This item is complete garbage! It’s flimsy and unsafe! Lowe’s needs to take it off the shelves immediately!

Cute but doesn't cut it

I thought this would be a decent torch. I was quickly mistaken by the horrible design and build quality. You have to pull the lower cover off to fill the unit. No big deal, until you realize after you pull the lower cover off a 99 cent lighter is what is transferring the butane and also acting as the igniter. My initial thought was, "at least I know how to replace the internals if something happens." Wrong, this thing is worthless, it hardly makes enough heat to melt a heat shrink tubing.

Torch caught Fire

I went to fill this thing and didnt relealized it leaked. It caught fire giving me minor burn to my hand. I think being a retired Firefighter kept it from being worse and not catching fire to my garage on fire. This product is unsafe

Bad quality

Messy to fill lighter in the base. The butane connection to the torch head doesn't connect well enough to deliver butane to the torch. Can't get it to work, even when using a lighter to ignite the torch.
