What Customers Are Saying
Customers are divided on this tree staking kit. About half find it convenient and adequate for small, newly planted trees, appreciating the all-in-one simplicity. However, many criticize the plastic stakes as brittle and prone to breaking, especially under wind pressure or in hard soil. The included twine is frequently described as cheap and prone to unraveling, making secure fastening difficult. Reviewers note the kit fails for trees over six feet tall or in high-wind environments, with several users forced to replace components with heavier-duty alternatives. Despite these drawbacks, some report success with modifications or temporary support in calm conditions.

Would RecommendIt is an average tree kit. Only good for smaller trees.
Tree stakes
Would RecommendBest for smaller tree. Good news is that it is a complete package of what's needed to support small trees. But plastic stakes offer minimal support and if pressured by wind or tree size they will give way and allow tree to lean. If in doubt, best to get a larger tree kit.
Cheap junk for $11
Would Not RecommendDon’t bother. You can make a better tree anchor system with scraps of material laying g around your house. Lowe’s should consider another vendor. All you get is some flimsy twine, 3 pieces of cheap garden hose, and stakes.
Garbage
Would Not RecommendThe stakes are very weak & break when trying to drive them into anything but wet, loose soil. The string that comes with them is way too short as well. I basically paid $10 for partial string & the hose pieces. Save your money and buy your own rope, metal stakes (or thick wood/rebar) and a cheap hose that you can cut to length. It will end up being cheaper if you have multiple trees and much more durable.
Tree stability steaks and ropes
Would Not RecommendWe live in rural and didn’t hold up with the wind we get.
Everything’s there
Would RecommendGreat for what we needed. Needed to anchor a new hydrangea tree and worked great.
For $10 it saved me from buying all the pieces separately to support my tree. For the price it did it’s job, the string could’ve been a bit longer.
Works very well with a small tree.
Would RecommendNylon rope was replaced with standard rope to make it more durable to wind elements. Price for kit was attractive.
Works Good for Small Trees
Would RecommendIt got the job done, just a bit awkward tying off the rope. We had to use eye bolts placed in an old tree trunk, rather than the posts (which are hard plastic,) because we have such rocky, hard soil in our hill country back yard. It appears to be working well so far. The posts would probably work well for regular, yard dirt and soil.
Tree stakes
Would RecommendVery easy to use and quality that will protect the tree as it roots and grows.
Great product!
Would RecommendConvenient kit that I used to stake a small ginkgo tree in my yard. I like the fact that everything I needed was all in one package.
Tied up a new shrub
Would RecommendIt serves it's purpose in that we wanted to ensure the shrub/tree grows straight. It will if the stakes stay in the wet ground.
Perfect for Smell / young trees.
Would RecommendAfter several hours looking into available options we decided to get this from Lowes. The price was right on spot for the item and was in stock for immediate pickup. The directions were simple and the task was done in minutes. It had everything neeeded in planting out new tree.
