Dow Foam Cleaner

Dow Foam Cleaner really works! It cleans the "hard to remove foam insulation" quickly and thoroughly.

It Cleans

Does what it is supposed to do which is clean the inside of the foam gun. A recent can was defective and only partially pressurized. About half the can remains but no aerosol to dispense it. Acetone is easier to use for the exterior surfaces of the gun and other items. A spray button is included but would not attach to another can.

Works great for removing foam that's not cured

Used this to clean out two foam guns, one of which had started to plug up. It was not quite the cleaner I had hoped it would be to remove the cured foam that was blocking up the tube, but when used on foam on the tip or elsewhere that hasn't cured, it dissolves it quickly and easily.

Pressure and Temperature Affect It

You will get limited to no pressure in cold environments. Also make sure you don't break the plastic fitting with the O-ring. If you do, it will not fit onto the insulation gun. And this will most likely lodge in the gun. If that happens you will have spray foam all over the place when you try to put on a foam can, not realizing the broken piece is inside the gun.

Must have for foam guns

If you plan to use the foam adhesive and the gun that comes with it, you gotta have the cleaner to accompany it. This stuff clears it out really nice when it still wet. If you wait until it dries, it will still do the job, it's just a bit harder.

Keep your gun, tools, clean

As anyone who's ever used Great Stuff, if it gets on skin, tools, or materials, it AIN'T comin' off! Once it's dry, it can be scraped off but there's always a slight residue. This cleaner has two uses. One is to repeatedly spray on your gun's tip so it doesn't get clogged from rapid air drying when you are moving from one area to another. The other is to screw onto your gun so the chamber is clear. Great Stuff says that the gun can stay hooked to a foam can that isn't empty and that works ...
