What Customers Are Saying
The product has mixed reviews. While some found it easy to install and appreciated the added security, many reported issues with the lock's performance in windy conditions, including the lock not properly releasing or engaging, causing the gates to get stuck. Compatibility problems with certain gate systems were also noted, requiring additional modifications. The lock's latch design was considered not secure enough, as it could be easily bypassed. However, the lock was satisfactory for some when installed correctly and in calm weather, helping stabilize the gates. Overall, the product has significant limitations that make it unsuitable for many customers' needs.

The Achilles Heel of the Entire Unit
In theory this should be simple to install, one cable, all pieces parts included. So yes, the installation itself isn't difficult HOWEVER...when using the tube gate attachment, DO NOT keep nuts on posts before screwing into back of ZL unit. This prevents the tube gate attachment from seating deep enough into the threaded holes to hold the unit in place. The other thing I would suggest is making a clevis pin box with fluted or slanted opening. If your gate slumps even a 1/4" it won't lock. W...

Works great. I had no issues installing this lock and would gladly recommend to others.

Lock does well holding gate closed, but with issue
The lock itself is made well and works well with the controller. However, my gate will think it has hit an obstruction and stay open about one out of every 10 times it is opened/closed. I have adjusted as best as I can, so I am not sure what to do about this. It is a little frustrating thinking the gate is closed and then find out it has opened back up almost halfway because it hit the lock. When latched, the lock does keep the gate closed and prevents the wind from swaying the gate.

Works Great Unless the Wind is Blowing
The zombielock system is well engineered and well constructed, but a major functional flaw is that the lock cannot release itself from the reciever pin during windy conditions. The gate panel, when pushed by the wind, causes the lock's internal latch leaf to bind on the receiver pin, resulting in a failed attempt to open the gate

Zombie Lock
Works as advertised. great added security to the front gate

Not for wider gates
The closing accuracy for 14' and 16' gates is insufficient. Sometimes force is exceeded causing the gate to pop back open by 3'. Other times it doesn't close far enough to latch. Do NOT buy for 14' and wider gates.

Won't line up with weather changes
Would Not RecommendThis lock worked great for about a month out of the year+ I've had it. Weather changes cause it to never line up again since the bracket has no space at all to adjust to this. The bad design of the bracket makes this an unusable product
