Lousy design

When using the oven at high temps and/or a long period of time, the cooktop gets exceedingly hot. I've reported this, and worked with GE service, but alas, I was told this is normal and is part of the design of the unit. There are oven vents on the front of the door, directly behind the handle. However, I feel my issue is due to insufficient insulation on the cooktop itself. New owner

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had the stove now for a couple of weeks works just fine. Overall experience has been really good. Though I am a little disappointed in the fit and finish the bottom drawer sticks out about a quarter inch on one side. And the control knobs are cheap plastic instead of metal or something a little more substantial. I would think that you're top of the line Appliance would get better control knobs

Excellent Lay out easy to use

Controls are laid out nicely work very well. Oven controls and timer are excellent it shows what the temp is as it preheats. Oven is very easy to clean and maintain. I am an older man and I like using it more than my wife I took her job away from her. Great job GE.

Oven heats up stove top to 160 degrees-Not Safe!

Horrible Design-with just the oven on, the stove top can get up to 160 degrees!! Extreme safety hazard for children and adults. That’s correct, just heating the oven to 400 degrees for 1 hour (not turning on the stove top, just the oven) heats the stove top (cook top) to 160 degrees. I had a candle in a glass jar on top of the stove (not lit) and the wax was bubbling at the top of the glass jar - in addition I had a Calphalon stainless steel pan empty on the stove top and I couldn’t even touc...

Arrived defective

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Its not great. It showed up with a defective fan so we cannot use the airfry option until it is repaired, which will be approximately 6-8 weeks. Additionally the cord space in the back is TINY and razor sharp. It is very difficult to safely lay the power cord in a way the range will sit against the back wall. Overall I wish I went with a different brand.

A Fantastic Kitchen Range

The air fry feature is excellent for rapid reheating of pizza and for quick toasting of sub bread that doesn't fit in a toaster. The stove top burners heat very quickly and heat pots and pans very evenly. The controls are easy to master and are intuitive to use. Poor control panal

I already have complained about ability to. Change heating degrees when you want to reduce heat from say 425 to 350. You have to be a computer whiz to. do that it shouldn’t be so complicated. The buzzer is so low you can be twenty feet away and can barely hear it. I would like to be sent a manual. Please help me with this.

Overall good value/performance range

Controls

Very complicated to reduce heat during baking timer buzzer is almost inaudible. Tried to make it louder and online tech couldn’t get it.

Serves it’s purpose

This is very similar to our old unit (made by Kenmore). It has more of a variety of burners, two with double rings. It’s taken me a while to get used to the dials that control the burners. It is not as “fingerprint free” as I had hoped. The cook top constantly has smudges that I try to wipe off with a towel. The inside of the oven had what looked like fiberglass fibers on the inside. It was a chore trying to wipe it out with a damp cloth. When first turning on the oven, it had a terrible odo...

Horrible design

When using the oven, the cooktop and metal at the top of the oven gets extremely hot to the touch. I measured it over 130° during one baking session. According to GE, this is normal as the heat vents out right behind the oven handle. They consider the entire top of the range to be cooktop, and thus can get heated when using the oven. I consider this extremely dangerous and cannot believe they would design a unit to get so hot as to burn the consumer.
