Not a very good product

When you are so used to using smart devices that work as you expect and have a flawless app interface (ie Govee), you expect well known corporations like GE to be aligned with their competitors. This plug is no where close to the competition. They work for a day before disconnecting

I really wanted to like these switches but they keep disconnecting or going offline every other day, which is a problem as I rely on them for security and safety lighting and the switch is mounted in a position that requires disassembly to access. Very frustrated. If you do but it, keep the box and receipt so you can take it back when it causes issues. I wish I had.

Works for Christmas

We purchased to use for our Christmas lights outside. Set up was easy as we already had the app set up for other Christmas lights inside. Works great and love that I can set it and not worry about it. Also love that I can great groups and have all my devices/plugs turn on and off at the same time if I want to. Highly recommend!

Everyone needs

This was perfect for what I needed. We love our Edison light strands but it’s so dark and hard to see when we plug them in. This way I can ask Alexa to do it on my way out the door. Great buy!

Quick and easy setup

Got this to set up our outdoor Halloween lights and had it running in 5 minutes or less.

Will Not Connect to WiFI 5.0

This device will not connect to a WiFi system running WiFi 5.0 Ghz. It only connects to a system using WiFi 2.4. The device defaults to Blue Tooth connectivity which is misleading since none of the schedules or programs will operate - only the on/off switch on the app. In order to have any control over the device through the app you need to be standing near the device within Blue Tooth limits. Most of the newer Wi-Fi routers for fiber optic internet are Wi-Fi 5.0 so the device is essentially...

This is not waterproof,

Moisture will short fist plug out very easily. It should not be considered an outdoor plug if it cannot handle moisture and a little rain.

Good it you never touch it after setup

I bought 2 one for the front of my house and one for the back and both are plagued with issues. GE HelpDesk after tones of troubleshooting is factory reset. Issues: Routines won't change from original one set. Always disconnecting from wifi and unable to change wifi access point. Access point currently using is 15 feet from plug and all other devices work fine on that AP. App is ok, I really expect more from such a large company. I'll go back to the off brand ones.
