Poor performance

I am extremely disappointed with this unit. The unit came with our new manufactured home we just purchased. We upgraded to the1/2 HP from the 1/4 HP that came standard with the home. This disposal is VERY LOUD and NOISY. It sounds like there is something stuck in it. We searched around inside to make sure there was nothing stuck in there to cause a problem. I could not give this machine a good rating.

I bought this to replace another GE disposal. the first one lasted 14 years and it was very easy to install.

Acceptable but wish it had a wider mouth.

Just installed the disposall. Everything went Ok. Replaced a 10 yr old GE with the same mounting system and size. Hard getting the old mounting ring loose. Also, as other reviewers stated, it was VERY hard to remove the punch out for the dishwasher. They need another system. The old and new units were/are installed at a vacation home. The old unit started “freezing” in place due to no use. Difficult to unfreeze because you had to use a broom stick instead of a typical key. This one is the same...

Acceptable solution.. but...

the drain collar is proprietary and non standard so you cant use alternate collars. Only the collar that ships with the unit The rubber catch/guard does stop sound, but it also restricts water too much so you will get the sing to fill up a bit (until the wait pushes the 'leaves' open sufficient for flow. It is possible to use scissors to make the central hole a little larger sufficient for flow.

I was not given a registration card for the garbage disposal. I thought oh I will just crawl down there and look for the serial number to enter on the site and be done with it. It took me 15 minutes of moving in so many directions to get a DECENT photo of the Serial Number because of the IDIOTIC positioning of the sticker separate from the (FRONT FACING EASY) Model number and its a HUGE imposition to a person with a physical disability to try to get to it to register it. Quiet!

This is my first time to install a disposal and removing the old one was the hardest part! Once installed I was amazed at how quiet it was, fabulous compared to the old one.

Replacement for a 10 year old model

I bought this one to replace a 10 year old model that my wife accidentally dropped a spoon into. Motor still worked but broke the grinder.

It works!

I bought about two months ago and it works as well as any other garbage disposal I've had. Was worried it wouldn't be strong enough but it does the job!
