Would Not RecommendOrdered on line and 250w BR40 bulbs showed up , not R40s as description says. In store same thing - website said store had R40s but they were BR40s when i found them in the aisle. They are the same? Absolutely not. The difference in codes indicates a different shape. They are very close but not identical. For most out there - it doesn't matter. For those with older fixtures that call for R40, it may matter. Asthetically, the slightly longer and fatter shape of the BR40 doesn't work f...

Poor quality
Bought two for bathroom because I wasn’t sure of the red color. The red one burnt out after two days. Took back to store for refund. The white one lasted about 2 months and filament burnt out. Still looking for a bulb that will last. Will ty another brand.

Ok, but wish it were frosted
Almost exact replacement for previous bulb, but original was frosted. This clear version provides uneven light, unlike the original frosted one. Otherwise the same thing.
Burned out in 5 months
Burned out in a disappointing short 5 months (approximately 500 hours of use in the bathroom). One day it stopped working and when I examined it I could see the filament was broken. My previous lamp came with the house and worked for 9 years plus time with previous owners.

short life?
I bought the bulb in January. It's March and the bulb burned out. I hope it's not the norm. The bulb was on for about 4 hours a day. It's rated for a life of 3 hours a day for 5 years. The bulb does warm up our room so I'll repurchase.
This one was a dud
I've bought others with no problem, however this one lasted less than two weeks.

Burn out
This bulb lasted about 2 days and then blew when I turned it on leaving a dark colored base. Lowes gave me a refund which was appreciated. The previous one made it past 5 months before it blew. I Contacted GE and they sent a box for me to return the that bulb for product analysis and a coupon to buy GE light bulbs. Bad bulbs but good customer service
