What Customers Are Saying
The product has mixed reviews. Some customers found it effective at keeping leaves out of gutters and easy to install, but many reported issues with the low-quality, flimsy material that is difficult to work with. Common problems include the product sagging, curling up, and failing to block smaller debris from clogging the gutters. Several reviewers noted the product did not last long, with some experiencing issues within a week of installation. Overall, this appears to be an inexpensive but low-quality gutter guard that may provide short-term benefits for some, but is unlikely to be a durable long-term solution for most.

Plastic deteriorates after a few years due to exposure to UV sunlight, hot, & cold annual temperatures. Plastic becomes brittle then collapses into gutter forming a mesh that quickly cloggs up with moss, leaves, sticks, acorns, maple tree helicopter seeds, etc. Gutter ends up log jammed resulting in waterfall gutter overflow.
Flimsy, not worth even $4.
Would Not RecommendI don't know what product others are giving 4 & 5 stars for, but this Frost King plastic gutter guard isn't even good enough for a quick fix, which is all I wanted for now. It's about as thin and flimsy as the mesh bags you get onions in. Ok, not quite that thin but seriously, it's barely thicker or sturdier. You can bend it onto itself Very easily, it's not the least bit stiff and guaranteed to sag under the weight of a few leaves. I didn't expect too much for $4, and I definitely didn't get m...
cheap and easy
Would RecommendIf you have a little know know how these thing are the way to go, i let mine bow up with a curve upward. I put some on a few years back and they worked well, now ny oaks gave grown up and needed to install some on the front side of my home. I don’t know how long they will last but plastic last a long time, if they work on penn oak leaves, should work on most leaves. Happy happy.
too much aggravation
Would Not Recommendthis is almost impossible to install properly. too flimsy. the milk carton it was made from is worth more than it is
Easy to install!
Would RecommendI found this to be an economical, easy to install, effective solution. I did not have any issues with brittleness as described in other reviews. I will be going back and adding the zip ties as recommended in other reviews ~ I should know better than to read the reviews AFTER I install something! I agree with the reviewer who stated it is economical enough to use even if you had to replace it every year, which I don't expect to happen. I would definitely recommend this product!!
Too flimsy
Would Not RecommendThe material is way too flimsy to be any good - almost too flimsy to even install properly. I returned it immediately.
Turns brittle
Had some of these rolls left over from about 2003 and they worked fine when I installed them in 2016. Bought more in the spring of 2017 and finished the rest of my gutters. Noticed this fall that the new ones turned brittle and started breaking off in pieces, the older ones are still pliable. Did frost King change their material? The older ones were dark green where the newer ones were more black. Did I get a bad batch or is this a problem?
not useful
Would Not RecommendThe mesh gets curved up. it becomes more curved up as leaves are accumulated in the space between the gutter wall and the mesh. the mesh has to be taken out of the gutter to clean up the leaves. it is so curved up that it can't cover the gutter anymore.
sticker
Would Not RecommendJunk falls apart after the Sun Shines on it for a little while
Budget gutter guards
Would RecommendDid not want to pay the price for the expensive gutter guards so I thought I would try these based on reviews. One review in particular suggested using cable ties to install the guards, which is what I did. This worked great. I am pleased with how they fit and the installation was not bad.
Don't
Would Not RecommendHad trees growing out , fills up everything, waste of money and had to pay someone to clean gutters . I tried to get away cheep
You get what you pay for
Would Not RecommendIt was indeed cost effective but with our one tree it caved in and leaves collected on top. Did not meet our expectations so we returned the four rolls we bought
Breaks before you get it installed
Would Not RecommendI bought this at my local Lowes (Muncie, IN) and it was falling apart during the entire installation process. I didn't even need scissors to cut it! I can't see it standing up to one single stick falling on it. Do NOT purchase. My store only had this option, yet offered many different options for the panel guards. I am returning 3 rolls of it.
Works Well
Would RecommendI installed on my back side gutters about three years ago. I haven't been up to clean my gutters since. I have trees hovering front and rear. Just installed on the front of the house. No problem with brittleness or breaking. I thought of using ties. But haven't tried it yet. Seems like a good tip. However, I haven't had a problem so far. I highly recommend this product. I'm wondering what other uses it may ave.
Works Great!!!!! Use zip ties. Lay in sun helps to
Would RecommendWow! Worked perfect for me. Not sure what or why others are having issues with it breaking. I could and did twist, bend and fold with no issues with cracking or breaking. After first roll I unrolled the last 4 and left in sun for a while and it seemed easier to work with. Since it's sold rolled up and packaged that way it it wanted to roll back up mostly the ends but the sun and heat took care of that. We love it.
FROST KING GUTTER GUARD
Would Not Recommendthis product is garbage... I agree with David's REVIEW,, it is SO BRITTLE, IT JUST CRACKED WHEN i tried to install.. im taking this trash back to LOWE'S.... YOu need way more ....GAUGE THICKNESS ..im complaining to thermwell FROST KING'S company HQ in mahwah, NJ.... yes it was inexpensive, but a worthless product. JJ IN PA...i should post a VIDEO of how thin this gauge of the plastic is....but i have already spent enough time writing this and wasting my time.
dont
Would Not Recommendbrittle to the point that outta 4 rolls we ended up with buying the only other guards they had in store trash seemed to be either old plastic or just complete junk oh well i know better than go cheap, lol..........
Used to be good quality product, but not anymore.
Would Not RecommendI installed this product on about half of my house before I ran out and had to get more. It installed fairly easily the way people have described by slipping them under the shingles and then laying them on top of the gutter and using zip ties to keep them from sliding off. HOWEVER, the latest batch I just bought recently is VERY different. It is much more brittle and I couldn't install any of it because it kept breaking every time I tried to slip it under the shingles.
