Worth a try!

Bought this to maintain the (smallish) lawn at our home, thinking if it really stank I'd come back to Lowe's and pay $20 more for an electric mower. I'd read the reviews and decided to go ahead with it despite the typical cautions - we have St Augustine grass, it can get a little wet in the yard, etc. So far so good! I haven't gone out to mow in the rain but in regular Texas coast conditions this little mower cuts like a champ. It even eats smaller sticks and pine cones if you miss picking them ...

Good Not Great

This reel mower does a good job if you don't use it on the lowest setting. it cuts really close to the fence line but you will still need to used a trimmer. The front wheels along with the heavy weight of the machine will scalp your grass especially if your grass isn't level.The lowest setting is supposed to be one inch but I believe it cuts lower than that. Worse $200 ever spent

A little piece of advise - SAVE YOUR MONEY! I have an older model mower that cuts so much easier than this piece of junk! I learned really quickly that wheel size matters with manual mowers...the bigger the wheels, the easier to push!! My older model had much bigger wheels and was a breeze to mow my lawn. I have no clue how they can say it mows 60% better than others - what others? That's a horrible statistic and I'd love to know which mowers they actually compared it to. DO NOT BUY

Easy to assemble. Cuts great.

Awkward

Only used it once so far, but it’s awkward to get used to the handle since it doesn’t lock in place. It moves up way too far which makes it hard to push. It is extremely sharp, so it cuts grass well. It will also make a huge bald spot if you hit a dip.

Eco/Neighbor Friendly!

This has been a dream! No more realizing when you go to start the mower that you need to pick up more gas. We love how smoothly it cuts our small yard, how silent it is, and especially the fact that it spits the cuttings out the front so you aren’t getting sprayed.

Reel Mower

Just got it this evening. Toon maybd 15 minutes to assemble. Cut the front yard. Smooth. When it got stuck, twig, lump of old grass, it was easy to fix. As of right now, I’m loving it. Will right another review after a few months.

Great mower

This mower cuts better than other reel mowers. It also seems sturdier than the $100 model from another brand that I had to return after a month. I don't know why anyone would use a gas push mower when alternatives like this exist. If you have less than an acre that is relatively flat, this mower will do the job.

I was looking between Fiskar and Scotts reel mower, and decided to go with Fiskar because there are many reviews stating that the handle is stronger than any other Reel Mower, and let me tell you, that is correct the handle is very solid and stronger than the other green brand with wing nuts, Fiskar used real bolts and nuts! Damage wheel frame

I was looking between Fiskars and Scotts, and decided to get the fiskar today, just because people claim its quieter and strong handle. But I gave 3 star because once I opened the right front wheel is touching the frame, resulting that the entire wheel frame is bent. Looks like came from factory like that, it does not have any damage paint.

Too hard to push

This mower is too hard to push and does not turn well at all. We have an extremely small backyard and it takes me almost 45 minutes to complete because I have to go over it twice for it to cut all the blades. It will not get cut close to a fence or sidewalks either. If your yard is not perfectly level you will have trouble pushing this. It does not cut quackgrass at all if you have that issue as well so you will have to go back with a different tool to cut or de weed those.

Great mower when used for what it's intended

Reel mowers like this Fiskars are made to be used on already well manicured lawns free of debris. If you have sticks, rocks, uneven surfaces/holes, or if you let your grass get above 6" between mowings, this thing is not for you. It will not mow tall weeds or grass, and will get jammed with twigs and sticks. No noise and a little more exercise.

My yard in this SC gated community is not huge and this reel mower works fine. Quiet to operate and better for the environment though manual operation and return of grass clippings back into the lawn. Yes it takes more effort to push than my old gas and electric mowers, but I'm getting a bit of exercise. Perhaps my elderly neighbors (the ones who are considering lawn care services) may find this mower tedious, but I've got no complaints... in fact it's become a conversation starter.
