Good Test for Novice Radon Customer

I had been concerned/curious for some time about radon in my house since this is a very old house. In March, I put the test packet in our unfinished basement of about 2000 sq ft. After removing the test packet from its sealed bag, I set it in the middle of the basement about 4 feet off the basement floor. The packet set undisturbed for about 50+ hours(48 is minimum for test). The instructions for mailing the test back was somewhat confusing. It seemed to imply if it were sent back in the plast...

Easy to use and has good instructions. Requires additional cost to send to lab for processing. Results by mail in about a week.

Should have done sooner

Been living here for 3 years with a block foundation, sump pump, and French drain. About time I checked for Radon. Couldn't be easier than using these kits.

It took some detailed reading on the instructions but once I learned how to do the test it went very well. Just do the test for more than 48 hours and mail it in. Results were emailed within a week. Thankfully the radon in my basement was below measurable limits, so no fixes were needed. Good product and easy to use.

As a daycare provider I have to test every three years . I have used this kit the last two testings . It is easy to follow instructions, accurate readings and very quick results from the lab . I will continue to use this product

Set up 2 of these First Alert Radon Detectors for 90 hours. Got evaluations back promptly by email after sending to lab. Found out I needed Radon Mitigation as ratings were too high for health. Did test after my cat had been diagnosed with lung cancer possibly due to Radon levels in home.

Even if you have a radon system installed, annual testing is recommended. Very inexpensive and easy to do.

Test your house for radon

I didn't have any idea there was a radon issue in my neighborhood u till I tested. Yikes! It was an unhealthy level. I had a fan installed on my sump and within days, the level was in the acceptable range. Do yourself and your family a favor and test your house. It's very inexpensive insurance.
