This is a very high quality fire extinguisher with all metal parts. That means it can be recharged. Lowes also stocks a surprisingly high quality hanging bracket that holds it securely on my boat. I have not seen such high quality in a retail fire extinguisher.

Like: Easy to locate a product we hope never to use. Dislike: Product info suggesting one of these in every room in the house; no way to test it without creating a mess.

I agree with Consumer Reports: These fire extinguishers get the job done for a reasonable cost. However - the fact that they're available LOCALLY (Lowe's) is DEFNITELY a plus! We used one for employee training and all worked as expected! We have three located (one on each floor of our building); one in the business-owned van, and the final one in the grounds shed. If you live in a rural area!

Great piece of protection if you live in a rural area. It's great to have smoke detectors, but what's you gonna do if you don't have the tools to put out a fire. Now I sleep better. very good investment. Hope I never have to use it.

I haven't tested this in a real life situation (and I hope I don't need too) but the extinguisher feels really well-made and functional. It comes with a sturdy bracket and a pamphlet on how to use.
