Would RecommendFirst Alert is a great brand. Very easy install, just activate the unit, two or three beeps and its good to go for 10 years. The combo eliminates having two dectors. I would definitely purchase again

Too easy to Deactivate the alarm
Would Not RecommendDirections Need to be more clear making it too easy to inactivate the alarm making it useless. Once you accidentally slide the deactivate toggle the alarm is useless. Wasted money down the drain.

THREE WEEKS!
Would Not RecommendWe just replaced ALL of our detectors with these on 1/8/26. Overnight on 1/30/26, one kept going off. After the third time in 3 hours, we put it outside and it went off two more times within 30 minutes. Maybe faulty, but in my husband’s sleepy, very annoyed frame of mind, it no longer is functional lol THREE WEEKS and they aren’t cheap. Very frustrating.

Needs Better Instructions
Would RecommendThe instructions didn't mention how to activate the unit by removing a yellow strip, but don't break the plastic tab it sets in. The plastic tab permanently shuts it off. With clearer instructions, I would have given it a rating of 5.
