My wife purchased and she seems pleased with the purchase. If she wasn’t, I would know.

Doesn't detect natural gas.

I bought this due to my stove's pilot lights going out when strong winds blow down the vent above it. It doesn't happen often, but once was enough to alarm me. Unfortunately, it doesn't alarm this device at all. I came home today, after having this device for a couple years, to a house full of the smell of natural gas and not a peep out of this alarm. I'll have to buy one elsewhere, ideally from a different brand.

Very Unhappy With Plug In Design

I purchased 3 of these alarms for my house. I cannot comment on its accuracy at this time. However, I hate the design of the alarm. It blocks both outlets & the readout is not user friendly, with the digital display being vertical. I just saw that some customers complained about how the unit takes up 2 electrical outlets with its design. I should have researched this First Alert Alarm. Doesn’t work with battery

Purchase another brand! My daughter bought Kidde, and it’s a much better product. It was also less expensive.

This is also, and as importantly, a gas detector.

Works well in the end, but is not always a "plug in" as you need to use the included extension cord to locate it properly. Also, the printed template for spacing the wall attachment holes is not correct.

This device saved my daughter and 3 month old son.

This device does exactly what it promises. This device is a must have if you have gas in your home.

Blocks both outlets

This thing is huge, but I don't see why it needs to block both outlets. The fact that you have a built-in extension cord of sorts is a neat idea, but even that blocks both outlets?? I live in an older house and there just aren't that many outlets available, so this feature is really disappointing.
