Would RecommendInstalled in basement near ceiling as instructions specify. Real testing was a bit tricky, left it on unlit stove on lowest setting to get a real alarm test. It tries not to throw false alarms so it had to run for about 10 sec before triggering. Other testing of quick burst of higher amounts of gas did not trip it.
Template is wrong. So frustrating
Would Not RecommendThe instructions have a template for mounting screws which you would think is helpful. It would have been better without the template. The text says the mounting holes are 3 7/8 inches apart. The template hole locations are 3 13/16 inches apart. The actual spacing of the holes are 3 15/16 apart. The 1/8 inch difference between the template and the detector means it does not fit. It also means you need to repair the wall before re-mounting as you can't move a wall anchor 1/8 of an inch. Easy Install and Double Sensor is a Plus
Would RecommendEasy install. It's Firat Alert. Needed something in our Furnace and Water heater room where the only place gas is present. This fit the bill. It is plugged in and has a battery back-up with a Duracell Coppertop 9V battery included. Has test button that tests and shows a numerical display for Gas and CO. Nice looking and well made. Green indicator light shows unit is on and power supplied.
