Replaces Outdated Alarms & Works as Anticipated

Would Recommend

We had 3 interconnected ionization smoke alarms, vintage 2000, that we had disconnected because of constant false alarms. We purchased three new dual-sensor alarms (photoelectric and ionization) each with a battery backup. They replaced the old ones and installed with ease. There have been no false alarms or bugs/dirt hitting the sensors. A Sunday breakfast smoke-out in the kitchen set off the alarm so we know it works. It is so nice to have an alarm with a "hush button." We were able to hush th...

Great Smoke Alarm

Would Recommend

This smoke alarm was easy to install in place of old alarm and we like that it has both ion and photo electric detectors. The AA battery compartment is a lot easier to open than many of the sliding 9 volt units.

Just got them, good price for a dual detector

Would Recommend

My house is 8 years old, smoke detectors build is 2001 and non of them worked when I changed the battery. I wanted a dual detector, Lowes had the best price. Got a 6 pack. Installed in 5 min each after the 1st. The already installed red wire tied them all together so if one goes off, they all do. So far no problems, I'll let you know again in 1 year. Yea, I'd recommend this one - especially since its a dual detector The Irishman Florida con -= it took 5 minutes to learn how to open the drawer to...

Good Replacement Option for BKR 4120

Would Recommend

I had to replace 7 smoke detectors located at various heights in my multi-level home. I selected this model as the lower cost BKR replacement option sold on Amazon received terrible reviews. This smoke detector looks nice and installation was easy. I have had no problems with random beeping. The batteries accompanying each smoke detector appeared to be fresh. I wasn't sure this unit would fit my current connection (it did) so I ordered these from Lowes instead of Amazon so I could return the uni...

Just what I was looking for...

Would Recommend

Just what I was looking for, a wired dual senor smoke alarm with battery backup. Not many to choose from... Easy to install... replacing an older BRK alarm, same quick connect, made installation a snap! The battery door could use a little improvement... pain in the backside trying to open and close... same as the older model that used 9 volt batteries... improve that cheap plastic battery door! Feels like I'm going to break something every time I replace the batteries.

High Quality Dual Sensor Technology

Would Recommend

Quality in the entire design from dual-sensors to AA battery back-up installation. Units can communicate with each other; however, I used a single application installation.

Every feature I was hoping for

Would Recommend

Ordering, shipping, and delivery was very good. Packaging wasn't 'retail' quality, a little flimsy. Purchased 6 units, each requiring (2) AA batteries. Missing (1) but the (11) I received were Duracell, not a cheapo brand. AA batter removal is difficult. Unit senses both smoke and flames, has easy access front battery tray, and connects to 120V power. Alarm seems loud. I hope I never know if it is loud enough to wake from a deep sleep. Replacing 15 year old units was simple.

2 Months and no major issues . . .

Would Recommend

I picked these smoke detectors because of the dual sensors (photo and ion) as an upgrade to our builder grade detectors that came with the house when we moved in which were just photo sensors. The old detectors started to fail after 12 years (a few years past their lifespan) giving us false alarms, usually in the middle of the night (of course!). I went with the BRK / First Alert brand because it replaced the old alarm and needed no change to the hardwire plug adapter and I was able to plug in t...

This is a great smoke detector at a great price

Would Recommend

The title says it all. I recently needed to replace two 17 year old units. Which is about ten years too long , in the change. I spent a lot of time on line researching the improvements of the various models. I picked the Ion/Photo model because of the dual purpose of Smoke and Flame detection. They are also linkable ,so if one goes off a one end of the house ,it will set the others off. This gives you time to escape, with family and pets. The Dual modes are required in new construction in many s...
