The only issue was I had to contact the company because it came with 1 loose battery. It's supposed to have a pack of two for battery back-up. Somebody goofed...they took my info and said they'd sent a pack to me. We'll see.

3 out of 4 ain't bad

I ordered 4 of these to replace the builders grade smoke detectors on my 10 year old home. Selected because I wanted the dual detection technology. Lowes had the best price I could find. They are not carried in the KC area stores so I ordered them online. They arrived in 2 working days which I thought was an excellent delivery time. The install went smoothly. I had to replace the existing connectors but that was straightforward. After installing all 4 detectors I tested them and all seemed good....

Easily installed

Easily installed. Works as advertised. Especially like the "side-load" battery compartment. No need to un-mount the smoke detector to replace the batteries.

Easy to install, works well

Bought these detectors to replace 20 year old units in a townhouse. They were very easy to install, and offer dual protection. No more false alarms and offer protection for when the power goes out. I highly recommend this product.

Replaces Outdated Alarms & Works as Anticipated

We had 3 interconnected ionization smoke alarms, vintage 2000, that we had disconnected because of constant false alarms. Great Smoke Alarm

This smoke alarm was easy to install in place of old alarm and we like that it has both ion and photo electric detectors. The AA battery compartment is a lot easier to open than many of the sliding 9 volt units.

Just got them, good price for a dual detector

My house is 8 years old, smoke detectors build is 2001 and non of them worked when I changed the battery. I wanted a dual detector, Lowes had the best price. Got a 6 pack. Installed in 5 min each after the 1st. The already installed red wire tied them all together so if one goes off, they all do. So far no problems, I'll let you know again in 1 year. Good Replacement Option for BKR 4120

I had to replace 7 smoke detectors located at various heights in my multi-level home. I selected this model as the lower cost BKR replacement option sold on Amazon received terrible reviews. Just what I was looking for...

Just what I was looking for, a wired dual senor smoke alarm with battery backup. Not many to choose from... Easy to install... replacing an older BRK alarm, same quick connect, made installation a snap! The battery door could use a little improvement... pain in the backside trying to open and close... same as the older model that used 9 volt batteries... improve that cheap plastic battery door! Feels like I'm going to break something every time I replace the batteries.

Quality in the entire design from dual-sensors to AA battery back-up installation. Units can communicate with each other; however, I used a single application installation.

Every feature I was hoping for

Ordering, shipping, and delivery was very good. Packaging wasn't 'retail' quality, a little flimsy. Purchased 6 units, each requiring (2) AA batteries. Missing (1) but the (11) I received were Duracell, not a cheapo brand. AA batter removal is difficult. Unit senses both smoke and flames, has easy access front battery tray, and connects to 120V power. Alarm seems loud. I hope I never know if it is loud enough to wake from a deep sleep. Replacing 15 year old units was simple.

2 Months and no major issues . . .

I picked these smoke detectors because of the dual sensors (photo and ion) as an upgrade to our builder grade detectors that came with the house when we moved in which were just photo sensors. The title says it all. I recently needed to replace two 17 year old units. Which is about ten years too long , in the change.
