What Customers Are Saying

The product received mixed reviews. Some found it easy to install and appreciated the voice alerts, but many reported frequent false alarms that disrupted their sleep and caused distress, especially for households with medical conditions. Reviewers expressed concerns about the reliability and durability, with issues like draining batteries quickly or the alarms going off without apparent cause. The location programming feature was also reported as difficult to use. Overall, while the product may work well in some cases, there are significant concerns about its consistency and reliability.

Save Yourself the Headache and Expense & Find Another Brand … First Alert had been a good product. Not anymore. I suspect that the First Alert Company was bought out by BRK and BRK found a way to cut costs. I recently bought a combo BRK smoke detector/carbon monoxide unit (SC 7010.BV) from Lowes for $52. Unknown to me when I purchased it was that BRK no longer makes their harnesses with two connectors (like First Alert did.) So, now these hardwired units have open wires on one end. Their call ce...

Great Replacement for old Firex Smoke Detectors

Would Recommend

We had 10 hardwired Firex ionization smoke detectors installed in 2005 that needed replacement. Pennsylvania regulations now requires both smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) detectors be installed after 2013. We used these BRK smoke (photo sensor)/CO detectors (SC7010BV) on each floor and in the basement areas. We then used BRK dual sensor (photo/ion) smoke detectors (3120B) in the bedrooms. Replacing the old Firex detectors required swapping out the ceiling mounting ring and 3-wire connector to m...

They work

Would Recommend

Plugs work with existing BRK plugs. The voice feature is good for telling between smoke or carbon monoxide. The location setting is totally useless and difficult to navigate, ended up not using the feature at all. Over all I would have purchased the non voice models had they been in stock.

Good product but disappointing condition

Like the product..though the units received were more than a year old which limits the self imposed useful life of the product which FirstAlert says (and our experience supports) is only 5-7 years max. So we’ve already lost 1 + years or 18%+

So glad to locate this!

Would Recommend

We've used it before; it works very well. In fact, we got these to replace old ones that had stopped working. Also glad to find the same company and model!

CO/Smoke alarmby First-Alert

Would Recommend

This CO/Smoke alarm has a lifespan of 7 (sometimes 10) years and works well in the home. Also the talking alarm is helpful in that it tells you where and what the problem is. Allows you to pick the location for each unit, but once chosen, it is hard to change location (if you make a mistake the first time).

Great set of alarms

Would Recommend

The alarms were easy to setup and install. I like that we can setup the location of each alarm. Voice prompt will let you know were the location of the emergency.
