used this chop saw yesterday for the first time. there is a night and day difference between this chop saw with a steel blade vs a traditional chop saw. It cuts steel like butter, plus the cuts are more accurate and cleaner than the traditional chop saw. tons of power. i can already tell that this chop saw is going to save me a lot of time and money!

Moving from a Harbor Freight abrasive wheel to the Evolution S380CPS Metal Cutting Chop Saw was a giant leap in features and satisfaction. Pros: Few if any sparks (abrasive wheels were flame throwers and put dust all over my shop like sawdust), parts are cold to the touch after cutting, amazingly clean cuts. I retip diamond seg core bits.In order to make custom length tubes,I need to have a true cut and this saw does just that.

If you need a chip saw to cut steel, this is it. It’s fast and as accurate as you have time for. If you’re looking for something with zero calibration, might have to go with the next model up. The detents for the different angles are nice but there’s a few degrees of play I’m the alignment of the fence so it still takes some fine tuning to cut perfect. The cut quality is phenomenal, my blade has done over 100 45° cuts in 3” 3/16 square tubing. There is very minimal burr left by the blade, easily...
