Very disappointed.

I purchased this surface unit from Lowes Hardware and after installation, I attempted something simple. I was frying bacon on level 5 and after approx. 8 minutes, the unit shut down due to high temp. sensor. I then started another burner and it lasted 5 minutes before it shut down also. I contacted Empava support and the best support they could give was perhaps there was not enough ventilation. Fast and Clean

We installed this into a 24" cabinet above the matching oven and are pleased with the product. Looks great and heats up fast. Cleans up nice after using.

The good and the bad

So good news is Empava customer service is amazing. The product is also well designed and functions well. The bad is that I first bought the cooktop and it was great for a week but then it stopped working. I contacted Empava and they are very responsive and immediately sent a replacement at no cost. They also followed up to make sure it was received and working. So far six months later it’s worked great.

Excellent cooktop

Looks great, easy to install. I love the flexibility with the size of pans I can use due to the flex zones. The power boost works very well - very quickly boils water in less than 2 minutes. Compared to my previous induction cooktop by a different brand, it might be slightly louder - maybe? - it cools down a bit longer - a fan runs a while after you turn it off. But when the cabinet doors below the cooktop are closed (& usually they are) it’s not loud. Very comparable to the KA I had. The price ...

I was without a stove for 6 months. Every where I looked everyone had cooktops on back order . So went to loews . They had cooktops. Came across the empava cook top real nice. So bought the empava took it home unwrapped it and installed it. The cook top looks really nice and works well. It takes seconds to boil water. Thanks empava U

Love these cooktops!

Purchased these because we have very shallow countertops so we have two side by side and we'r very happy with them! Ordering another to use as a hot plate for parties because they have optional rubber feet and a standard three prong plug! Highly recommend!

Works well

I purchased this for my basement kitchenette build. I wanted something simple like what you would find at a hotel. This product fulfills my needs in that regard, it is 120V, I have it on a dedicated 20 Amp circuit. It looks good and you can use it to cook, it also cools down fast and has a lockout feature. If you need a small cooktop that is 120V, this is fits the bill.

Awesome cooktop

This is my 1st induction cooktop. Replaced old Jenn air glass electric cooktop. I shopped a lot of different ones and this one caught my eye. The looks were incredible and was amazed at how fast and evenly it cooks. The price was great compared to models that were 1 to 2 thousand dollars. I would recommend the Empava cook top to anyone looking for a great product at an affordable price.

The Pancakes Don't Lie!!

I am bewildered by all the positive reviews of this cooktop. I absolutely hate it and would return it in a heartbeat, but I'm outside the return period. I had a Whirlpool induction range in my last house and loved it, so we switched to induction the moment we moved into our new house. BUT I HATE THIS COOKTOP. Inductions okay. Not amazing.

Not all that’s it’s cracked up to be. Induction heats intensely then stops then goes again when it’s on medium or low which in turn Has been burning the food on the bottom of the pan when cooking. I bought this cook top because it was the cheapest induction I could find to replace my old one that broke. I’m glad I get to try out the induction before our remodel because I’m not sure that I’ll get another. My pots and pans make really weird sounds when it’s cooking mind you I have really good all ...

Great, with one exception

Excellent fit and seems to be good quality. Only quibble is the fact that there really is only one power setting: full. Anything less than maximum power is achieved by the unit cycling full power on and off. That can make it hard to control the temperature in a small pot or pan.
