If your new to induction, it takes 6/3 wire, 50amp breaker. With induction you have to follow Mise en place. Before you buy check your cookware, if a magnet sticks to pans your in business. If not check out Heritage Steel, made in Clarksville Tennessee, great customer service.

Surprised a great cooktop!

I wasn’t sure how I would like trying out this new cooktop. It is not a well known brand, but I have really been impressed with it the couple of weeks I have gotten to use it. I am happy with my purchase! You don’t have to pay big bucks for something that performs well.

It takes gettimg used to.

i did a minor update to my kitchen and decided to try out induction with this top. i have decided that a gas range is what i want in the future. if i had to buy another induction i would not buy this brand. On a setting of 5 or below it pulses on amd off every 5 seconds instead of staying on consistently. Boils things fine but it is kinda weird thing to do. Inconsistent Heating

I don’t understand all of the good reviews, because my experience was more in line with the negative ones. The cooktop is very nice looking, but the burners only heat the middle 6” of the pans, even on the largest burners. The heat is also very inconsistent. It pulses so much that you can see it. While cooking pasta, the water would bubble, then stop, then bubble, then stop, repeatedly. Same thing with cooking chicken. It would sizzle, then stop, sizzle, then stop. Do not buy

Do not buy this, or other Empava products. The review "Defective Design not suitable for cooking" is spot on: the heating elements are tiny and burn a small circle no matter what you do, it's loud, it pulses power, the controls are terrible, and sometimes burners just don't work. And it gets worse! We had it for about 8 months. In the middle of simmering (burning?) a pot, it made a sudden popping sound, and blew the circuit breaker. After resetting the breaker, nothing we could do would get any...

Unreliable Product!

Bought this cooktop for my lower level kitchenette. In less than 2 years, the one burner stopped working. There is no contact info for the company for customer support, and is no longer carried by Lowes (very clear why, but they don;t stand behind it either, Huge waste of money. I will never buy an appliance thru Lowes again.

melted my pot

Been using it for about 5 months and we loved it! Until the back large burner melted my pot! As my husband moved it off the burner, the bottom of the pot was welded to the glass burner and broke the glass!

Defective Design not suitable for cooking

There are a number of good reviews for this product. I had written off the one-star reviews as people who probably just didn't know how to cook on an induction or even electric cooktop, or didn't know how to cook well with cast-iron or steel pans. But after trying to cook with this cooktop for the couple weeks, we've seen that every one-star review on this website is absolutely correct. Great stovetop

Easy install and looks and works great. Great buy for the money.

Good value

Easy to install. I particularly like that the cooktop came with a plug rather than needing to hire an electrician if it had been a hardwire.

Poor Quality buy something else!

We are on our third one, first one blew within 1 week, second one blew within 4 months. They did send us another replacement after much and back and forth, hoping this one will work! Have had to pay our electrician three times to have installed, what a pain.

Absolutely love it

Ive had my Empava cooktop for a while now and have to say am so satisfied. It heats up super fast, its easy to clean and maintain, and still looks pretty much like new. I am impressed. Would definitely buy again

Much weaker than advertised

I used a Victron shunt on a stand alone 20amp circuit to check the power usage of the unit. The right element on "high" topped out at ~950W and the larger element on the left topped out at ~910W. Both of these numbers are lower than the advertised specs (1300 and 1800 respectively) and indicate the smaller element actually has the higher output.
