have not had this long enough to honestly evaluate

this is installed on a heat lamp in my pump house. i have a 2nd heat lamp on another controller that comes on at 35 degrees. my hope is that as temp. drops the first lamp will come on and if it continues to drop the second one will. i have a camera in the pump house that is focused on a big thermometer that i can monitor on my security system ( Swann ) or remotely with smart phone. Easyheat Thermostataclly Controlled Device

I use 2 of these to control space heaters in our motor home to prevent water pipes from freezing. I have not had any trouble with them in the three years I had them.

Keep your pump from freezing

I use this to turn a light bulb on and off in my pump house to keep it from freezing. It works well. I have four of these units installed in two pump houses and well heads. This past summer I had a pump house flood and cover one of these controllers with water. Since it was under water I didn't trust it anymore so I decided to take it apart. The unit is a picture of simplicity and good design. There are no electronics to fail, just a very dependable bi-metal thermostat. So simple, so dependable...

Good Product

I have an unusual use for this product. I keep my boat on a boat lift year round. I have installed this to turn on lights in the engine compartment to prevent freezing. I also attached an external light so I can be sure it is working. I have used this product for years in similar applications and have never had a problem

Dependable, Well Made Product for Protecting Pipes

I have purchased three of these over the years and all are still in service. This device is intended for use with pipe heat tape but it is useful for any application where you want electricity to a device based on the surrounding temperature (greenhouse, dog house, etc.). If I were the manufacturer, I would add a"test" button to the design that would bypass the thermostat and send power through to the connected device(s) just to validate the installation.

Don't have to worry about well temperature anymore

This turns on my light automatically at a certain temperature to keep well warm.

Works Great

This heat/cold sensitive plug in works great. But just know that the light does NOT stay on unless it is cold enough (38 degrees) to actually need whatever you plug in to actually come on. It appears from the packaging that the light would stay on all the time to indicate that it is getting power. But that is not the case. But that does not effect the actual product function.

Very reliable

The product is used in a boat to turn on and off a boat heater during the winter to prevent freeze-ups in a boat which stays in the water. Works perfectly. I wanted to install a second heater but no one in the store could find the item. I then got the one I already had and found it using the manufacturer name. It is a thermostat and definitely NOT a cable. The website needs to be fixed.

A Necessary Luxury!!!

While I could have just unplugged my heat tape, this thermostat takes the worry out of remembering to plug it back in when it gets cold. Also, when dealing with the plastic skirting on a mobile home, that stuff can get brittle and break in cold temperatures. This product was recommended to me by a neighbor and said it saved him, his mother, and brother and sister-in-law who all live in different mobile homes here a lot of money during the summer months, which is a wise choice when having to run ...

1800- watt Pipe Heat Cable Plug

I have three of these plugs in water pump outside areas to turn on and off a light bulb that prevents water freeze through providing heat. These work well and extends bulb life since the bulb is only on when temp is below 38 degrees. The plug supplies electricity to the heat source, light bulb or heater, when temp drops below 38 degrees.

Money Saving Item

I am using this in my pump house to control a heat lamp. During the last few weeks its been in the teens here I am happy to say that at night I can look out and tell the plug is work just like its suppose to If I ran that 250 watt light 24 hours a day there is no telling what my light bill would be If you have a pump house you need one of these

Could control more than 1 outlet. Off temp should should be lower (40 degrees). Wastes a lot of energy

Worked well, temperature range could be narrower

I used this for a couple of days to control a 250 halogen work light as a heat source for a water well head in a concrete enclosure during the recent sub-zero weather. I could see when it turned on and off at night from light leaking from around the lid of the enclosure. It did cycle on and off so worked as advertised. Product works as described. I use it to automatically apply heat to our mini greenhouse.
